The leader of the odd-job agency the Cunning Hares, who accept all kinds of Hollow-related commissions. She's been on the streets for many years, and has a reputation among her peers as being exceedingly cunning. She's been blacklisted by many clients due to her all-or nothing approach. She loves money, but is surprisingly bad at managing it, leaving the Cunning Hares constantly on the edge of bankruptcy and owing many debts.

Can apply a very large Defense Shred debuff on enemies increasing the damage they take considerably.
Increases the entire squads' Ether damage by 25% while her Additional Ability is active
She’s free!
One of the only characters that synergizes with characters such as Billy and Nekomata due to the limited roster of characters on release in 1.0.
There are no Ether damage characters for Nicole to support on release, but this will quickly change with the release of Zhu Yuan - still, for now, her Ether boost is only useful for herself.
Requires specific timing or constant swapping to maintain good uptime of DEF shred debuff on enemies due to its low duration.

This tier list assesses characters based on their combat potential in Zenless Zone Zero’s current most demanding content, Shiyu Defense (SD). SD is a mode similar to Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss or Honkai Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos and requires multiple teams, Disk Drives and good W-Engines. This mode offers a reasonable mix of Boss encounters (single target) and Elite packs (2-3 targets), allowing multiple characters to find a niche but in the end, there is a bias toward single target focused characters at the top-end and tier list ratings will reflect that.
Please keep in mind Zenless Zone Zero is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Zenless Zone Zero is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.

The W-Engines are listed in order of priority. Sometimes the percentages appearing near them won't reflect their performance as pure damage or Stun output isn't the only thing we're looking at - the utility of the W-Engine might be more important than the calculations imply.

Best set for Supports aiming to support direct damage dealers or Anomaly characters that do not require the buff from Freedom Blues. Grants the entire squad a 15% DMG increase for 12 seconds following a Chain Attack or Ultimate. Almost always activated via a Chain Attack which perfectly buffs all allies right before the team's largest damage window during stun.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:
Substats: Anomaly Proficiency = ATK% > PEN = FLAT ATK
ATK: 2000 - 2400+ (Optional)

Rotation & Teams
Nicole and Nekomata enable each other’s Additional Ability, opening up the last slot of a team member to your choice. Nicole also provides Nekomata an incredibly impactful Defense Shred debuff on enemies which when timed right can significantly increase Nekomata’s total damage output. On other hand, Nekomata appreciates an ally who can allow her to perform Quick Assist in order to activate her Core Ability and Nicole is not only capable of that but also very good at making it happen as her playstyle revolves around weaving her EX into combat often in order to keep her Defense Shred active. Nicole wants to keep her Defense Shred up using her EX which grants Nekomata a Quick Assist which keeps Nekomata’s buff up ending in a nice synergy giving her the tool’s she needs to deal max damage even when she can’t perform Dodge Counter.
Billy’s biggest issue is his lack of access to good synergizing supportive options, especially ones that can enable his Additional Ability if possible. Fortunately for Billy, while there aren’t any Physical supports in 1.0, Nicole is a support who shares a faction with Billy, allowing them both to activate their Additional Abilities with each others help. Nicole also offers Billy other benefits - primarily through her excellent DEF Shredding debuff capabilities. Nicole’s DEF Shred is a great damage amplification tool but due to its low duration it should be deployed before Billy intends to execute burst damage and if possible weaved in between the teams rotation frequently to keep it active as much as possible.
If a column has multiple characters, the bigger one is the priority choice for the team while the smaller ones are alternatives. If they are the same size, either of them can be used.
