Introduction
Uni is the first of a series of powerful Strikers, kickstarting an era known as ‘Striker Echoes’ by the community. She’s notorious for being the best Echomancer at creating water zones. She’s also capable of high personal damage output, as well as lowering the target’s DR by 50%, which makes her a good pick for almost any team, especially burst-focused ones. Uni fully replaces Furay & Furney in “My Vision is Clear!” (MVIC) teams, both thanks to her higher damage and the extra utility she brings to the team. Her Seed skill resets her Skill 1 cooldown, enabling quick combos for speedrun enjoyers. If dupes are invested, Uni’s personal damage output becomes even greater, with consistent CRIT Rate and high CRIT DMG, while also buffing her allies’ CRIT Rate at Dupe 3. Uni’s own weakness is the famous “jack-of-all-trades, master of none”; in this case, referring to how while she’s good at many things, other Echomancers more specialized on their roles outperform her. You may also want to be careful with your elemental reactions depending on the team you place her in.
Review
The bread and butter of Uni revolves around stacking her passive “Blessings of Blue”, which increases the damage of her Seed Skill “Banquet of Tides”, and enabling her allies, be it through water zones or by reducing the enemy’s basic DR.
The former is quite simple. Uni will stack “Blessings of Blue” passively every 15 seconds or by using any of her two skills. To attain this objective, if your focus is using Uni as your main source of damage, prioritize her second skill, “Invitation of Currents” to get stacks. Save “Lament of Waves” for when her Seed Skill is ready. “Lament of Waves” reduces the target’s DR by 50%, creates a water zone, which in turn activates her passives, and, after the Seed Skill “Banquet of Tides” is used, it will reset the cooldown of “Lament of Waves”, thus enabling another wave of damage. No pun intended. Tl;dr, Skill 1 -> Ult -> Skill 1. This is Uni’s burst window and the basic of her gameplay.
In order to better understand this simple yet deep cycling, take note of the passives intertwined into Uni’s kit. Whenever she is in a water zone, she gains 25% CRIT Rate and 3% HP Regen per second, making her quite deadly and yet tanky, especially when combined with Nexus skills like My Domain and Strength Works Miracles or Memory Traces like Company and Emptiness. Aside from the DR debuff and the self-buff to her Ult’s damage through stacks of “Blessings of Blue”, Uni’s kit has yet another utility in the form of knockback on all her abilities. Although this is a bit niche, it can help control the battlefield and get enemies where you want them, or, in some stages, push them into holes.

Cons
- Skill 1 has only 5 uses, making it a bit awkward if you want to take advantage of the cooldown reset combo from her Seed skill;
- “Blessings of Blue” may take a while to stack, making Uni not as efficient as a main DPS as other Strikers.
Gameplay Tips
Dupes
If you want Uni only as an enabler, she doesn’t need any dupes to do a great job. For those who enjoy Uni and want to invest on her dupes, both her dupe 1 and 3 further increase her efficient, self-contained synergy. Dupe 1 increases the damage of her first skill, “Lament of Waves” and makes stacking “Blessings of Blue” more consistent. A great cost-benefit for those who want to use Uni as their main DPS. Meanwhile, for those who wish to go even further, Dupe 3 increases her CRIT DMG and allows her to buff her allies’ CRIT Rate.
General Tips
- Uni is pretty straightforward. Try to line up her skill 1 + ult with the burst windows of her teammates and you’re golden.
Skill Upgrade Priority
- Skill 1, “Lament of Waves” is her priority, being the main source of damage alongside her ultimate in her burst windows.
Team Recommendation
NOTE: Remember you can mix and match Echomancers among all suggestions and alternate options, adjusting based on who you have available.
Team 1
Leader: Uni
This team uses Uni as the main DPS, with several options to mix and match in order to maximize her damage output. Begonia is an obvious pick due to her ASPD buff and the fact that she takes advantage of the same MTs and Inheritance skills as Uni. Kylin or Yuqi are here to trigger MVIC. Another option is to swap Begonia, Kylin or Freda for Thea, who can quickly stack inspire by using Curiosity of a Hailinian, and, if you have Begonia or Boreas in the team, she can stack Melt on enemies, greatly helping with elite enemies or bosses. For shorter fights and when you simply want to go as fast as possible, Freda becomes a superior choice to Boreas (or you can replace Begonia with Boreas). Her buff to reduce ultimate cooldown synergizes well with Uni’s first skill, ensuring fast cycling.

SCYLLA
Feng Qingxue is the ideal example of a Main-DPS who can benefit from Uni’s kit regardless of anything else. The 50% DR reduction is a big help for Feng’s burst windows. In addition, it enables Feng to more easily take advantage of MVIC, bringing her damage to yet another level. Last but not least, another key factor to Uni’s role in the team is her consistent creation of water zones, which can then be turned into ice zones, giving both Feng and Boreas an easier time during Dry or Normal Weather stages and allowing Feng to more reliably take advantage of “My Domain”.

As usual, the summoner team gets yet another “DLC”. This can also be considered the basic template for any MVIC team, in which you can switch Cen Ying for another Main-DPS like Scarlett or anyone else you fancy. Adjust the Inheritance and Memory Traces accordingly and you’re good to go. But as usual, Uni + A Square Lightning along with MVIC are your absolute core. For variations of this team, Freda should be prioritized over Boreas.

Future Synergies
While Uni’s versatility has already been explained and explored, Jean is undoubtedly her best and most reliable partner. Together, their kits complement each other, and when you add the fact that Jean is a main carry who can trigger MVIC, you can expect outstanding damage. Definitely a must pull for anyone who has Uni.
Long He, the newest addition to Ash Echoes, is another burst Ranger who can benefit from Uni’s assist in a similar fashion to Feng Qingxue.
