Inheritance
Insight 1
Oath Bound
Insight I

When entering battle, Anjo Nala chooses another ally to bind with. The type of binding is determined by the Afflatus of the bound character, and provides enhancements to both characters:

Spirit/Intelligence [Mind and Flesh]: 4% of each other's ATK and Max HP.

Beast/Plant [Bone and Blood]: 8% of each other's Critical DMG and Reality DEF.

Mineral/Star [Form and Phantom]: 8% of each other's Critical Rate and Mental DEF.

Anjo Nala’s Max Moxie is changed to 12 while Ultimate Moxie Cost or Consumption is changed to 8.

The bound ally cannot gain or cast ultimates.

All Moxie gained by the bound ally will be transferred to Anjo Nala instead.

Oath Bound
Insight II

Crit DMG +15% when the caster enters battle.

Insight III

After the bound ally actively casts an incantation, if Anjo Nala is in the [Hymn] status, reduce the duration of the [Hymn] status by 1 round, and trigger additional effects based on the binding's type:

[Mind and Flesh]: Anjo Nala launches a rank 1 [Feast of Lust] as a follow-up attack against the enemy with the lowest HP percentage.

[Bone and Blood]: Anjo Nala gains 1 additional Moxie.

[Form and Phantom]: Anjo Nala casts 1 [Angel’s Temptation], up to 2 times per round.

Anjo Nala is a 6-star Arcanist of the Beast Afflatus. She excels at... pretty much everything, providing ample support, casting a huge amount of FUAs, applying very consistent CC and also dealing large amounts of personal damage. There's two gimmicks to her kit. The first is the fact that she binds with a target ally at the beginning of battle. Depending on the ally's Afflatus, they and Anjo Nala receive varying stat bonuses; in addition, when the bound ally actively casts an incantation, Anjo Nala activates one of several effects (ST FUA, Moxie Gen, Mass FUA). The bound ally cannot gain any Moxie, giving any they gain to Anjo instead, and her own max Moxie is increased to 12 (with 8 needed to generate her Ultimate).

The second gimmick is [Hymn], which is a 7-turn duration channel that she activates with [Twin Phantoms] incantation. All her incantations reduce the duration of this channel, and when it ends, she casts [Angel's Temptation], a powerful mass attack that usually inflicts [Titillated] (stacking debuff, steals ATK from carrier). However, if it's cast through this channel, it inflicts [Captivated] (hard CC, Titillated transforms into Captivated when stacked) instead. It is also the mass FUA that Anjo casts when bound to a Mineral/Star character, though this FUA inflicts [Titillated].

Her kit itself is quite simple. [Feast of Lust] is a single target debuff that inflicts stacks of [Titillated] and deals additional damage based on the different types of [Neg Status]es on the target. This is also the ST FUA that Anjo casts when bound to a Spirit/Intelligence character. Then there's [Twin Phantoms], which activates the [Hymn] channel or reduces its duration considerably if she is already in the channel.

Her ultimate is interesting. First, she enters herself and her bound ally into a channel. Then, at the end of the turn, the bound ally is forced to use their ultimate, after which she uses her own. [Interwoven Dreams] is a powerful mass attack that first inflicts several random [Neg Status]es, then deals damage based on the number of different [Neg Status]es on her targets.

Gameplay Anjo Nala has two very different (not) playstyles: Support/Nuke and Nuke/Nuke.

She can be played as a more generic FUA/CC based support for units like 37, Fatutu and Lucy. Here, she provides consistent FUAs, filling the gaps in certain kits (37 requiring a lot of FUAs/Actions and Lucy having lacking ST DMG) while providing stat boosts for the main damage dealer.

The other playstyle is a bit more niche but still has value, especially for new players. Due to her True Limited privilege, Anjo Nala's numbers are extraordinarily high, which allows her to act as main damage dealer for a majority of the game. There's also interesting combos with Shamane (Euphoria), Flutterpage and Eternity (Euphoria)/Semmelweis. With Shamane she can set up 1-turn Ultimate cycles, with Flutterpage she can imitate her 37 combo and HP Loss teams can use Anjo as a Carry.

Generally for high-end players, running Anjo Nala as the main damage dealer isn't very appealing, as they'll have access to more powerful characters. However, Anjo Nala can fill a lot of holes in a new player's roster. She's generally usable in most teams, though as of writing this her weakest combo is definitely the Beast/Plant one (though even that has its synergies).

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Takes “jack of all trades” and puts “master of all” after it due to her ability to cater to whatever the team needs depending on her bound ally

  • Access to a ridiculous amount of Follow-Up Attacks while bound to Spirit/Intellect or Mineral/Star allies

  • High personal DMG output

  • Able to inflict highly consistent CC with [Captivated]

  • Also fits into debuff-based teams due to the DMG increases she receives on enemies carrying [Neg Status] effects (+being able to inflict those herself)

Cons

  • Doesn't mesh well with characters that need to generate Moxie or have a generally slow Ultimate cycle (e.g. Willow)

Comments

Transcendent Love is her signature psychube and provides an incredible 16% ATK, Crit Rate, Crit DMG, and DMG Dealt at max amplification.

On the Hand of Time is an amazing option for any frequent FUA caster. 28% PEN Rate and a ridiculous 60% Critical DMG is too good to pass up.

Same Old Story works perfectly as a backup option, giving her 18% Incantation Might, 28% DMG Dealt, and 5% PEN Rate.

Anjo Nala applies a lot of [Neg Status]es, making [Blasphemer of Night] a great general option for her.

Similarly, Yearning Desire is trivial for Anjo Nala to activate; it's a great budget option.

Contracted: 37 or Fatutu. Utilizes 37s' abundant Mass DMG with Anjo Nala's frequent Mass FUAs to set up a cycle of control with 1 round gaps (or a permanent cc cycle if you have Portraits on your 37) with FP and Fatutu as standard FUA Support core. Flutterpage massively increase 37's Genesis DMG Output through [Gust] and Fatutu's [Spirit Shell] shreds DMG RES against FUA at a ridiculous pace (and on permanent uptime through the amount of FUAs). 37 can also be traded out for Lilya or Jiu Niangzi.
