  • At the start of the round, if not under a [Pulsing Field] of any level, deploy [Pulsing Field Lv.1]. After this unit takes an action, gain 10 stacks of [Dynamo]. At the end of the round, transfer up to 20 [Dynamo] into the [Pulsing Field].

  • [Pulsing Field]: At the start of the round, upgrades based on [Dynamo] transferred: 50+ upgrades to [Pulsing Field Lv.2], 120+ upgrades to [Pulsing Field Lv.3]. When removed transferred [Dynamo] is also cleared.

  • [Pulsing Field Lv.1]: All allies gain DMG Bonus +15% for 3 rounds.

  • [Pulsing Field Lv.2]: All allies gain Incantation Might +25% and DMG Bonus +15% for 3 rounds.

  • [Pulsing Field Lv.3]: All allies gain Ultimate Might +35%, Incantation Might +25%, and DMG Bonus +15% for 2 rounds.

Tier IV

  • When casting a rank 1/2/3 [Protection to the Body] or [Stimulus to the Mind], the Current HP loss effect is reduced by a flat 10%. [Stimulus to the Mind]: [Shield] duration +1 round. If a target already has a Shield, the new Shield value is stacked on top of the existing Shield, up to a maximum Shield value of (Max HP x60%) HP.

  • Gain [Amplified Surge]. When a mushroom matures, a [Stacked Shield] is triggered.

  • [Amplified Surge]: When a mushroom is under a [Pulsing Field Lv.2] or [Pulsing Field Lv.3], the mushroom instantly matures at the start of the round.

  • [Stacked Shield]: Additionally grants a Shield equal to a rank 2 [Stimulus to the Mind] to all allies; and if the target is already holding a Shield, the value of this Shield is stacked on top of that target's existing Shield, up to a maximum Shield value of (own Max HP x60%) HP.

Tier I

  • Whenever an ally loses HP, accumulate points of [Bloodtithe]. The ultimate no longer grants Eureka to other allies, and instead grants 6 points of [Bloodtithe].

  • At the end of the round, if [Bloodtithe] is at 5 or higher, for every 1 mushroom, recover (the target's Missing HP x8%) HP to other allies, this effect can critically hit.

Tier II

  • When casting a basic incantation, lose an additional (own current HP x15%) HP, and the corresponding planted mushrooms is increased to 2.

  • [Stimulus to the Mind] is now changed to a healing incantation, changing its effect from granting Shields to recovering HP equal to the Shield's value to all allies.

  • When casting [Stimulus to the Mind], consume 2 points of [Bloodtithe] to grant Healing Done +30% to that action; and if own HP is below 50%, grant additional Healing Done +30% to that action.

Tier III

  • When casting a basic incantation, if mushrooms are maxed out, consume an additional 10% Current HP from all allies to grow all mushrooms 1 time.

  • This unit gains Healing Taken +20%.

Tier IV

  • When a mushroom matures, accumulate 1 point of [Bloodtithe] and recover (the target's Missing HP x20%) HP to all allies, this effect can critically hit.

  • At the start of the round, if [Bloodtithe] is at 15 or higher, consume 1 point of [Bloodtithe] and recover (the target's Missing HP x20%) HP to all allies.

Ezra is a support who can provide shields, various buffs, moxie, and Eureka to allies and himself. What you’ll likely notice instantly about Ezra’s kit is that he loses health on all of his skills, which might make you wonder: how do we even keep him alive? Well, his Insight III provides healing depending on how many mushrooms are on the field—8% each per mushroom. Plus, every single one of his skills and ultimate will plant a mushroom that grows every round. The way this works is once a mushroom is “planted” from using his skill or ultimate, it’ll grow once every round and mature after growing 3 rounds; depending on if you’re growing a [Honey Fungus] or [Ghost Fungus], it will either inflict [Vulnerability] (+25% Damage Taken) on enemies or grant [Discernment] (+40% Crit DMG) to all allies. He can speed up cycling simply by using his skills. Mushrooms will be vital in keeping Ezra alive and applying the various buffs.

Looking more directly into what his skills do, [Protection to the Body] is pretty much his only means of doing damage. It’s a mass attack whose damage mostly comes from the Genesis DMG portion rather than the actual attack. Ezra’s other skill [Stimulus to the Mind] is a mass shield buff (which unfortunately lasts one round) that plants a [Ghost Fungus]. He can lose up to 15% of his current health on both of these skills. His ultimate, [Compassion All-Round] is a mass buff that grants 1 Moxie and 1 Eureka to all allies and also plants the maximum amount of [Honey Fungus] possible while maturing all mushrooms. His ultimate's Moxie and Eureka generation makes it a useful supportive tool.

While Ezra generates Eureka from his ultimate, he also gets Eureka from his Insight I passive, which gives him 2 Eureka when entering battle and 4 Eureka after casting his ultimate. Eureka is useful for his kit in a multitude of ways: his Insight I allows him to consume 2 Eureka to grow any Mushroom if the maximum amount of the corresponding mushroom is planted, and his Insight III allows him to consume 2 Eureka to increase his Moxie by 1 if the maximum amount of mushrooms are planted and the mushroom corresponding to the skill he cast is not present. This means that if you focus on planting [Ghost Fungus] when you use his ultimate, you should be able to give Ezra fairly consistent Moxie gain.

Overall, Ezra can be a bit hard to learn and a bit AP greedy just due to him needing to set up his mushrooms, but he works very well in his role as a sustain/support to provide crit buffs, moxie, and Eureka for the team if you can figure him out.

Ezra has two very distinct Euphoria buffs, one for each archetype he is meant to support:

  • [Mycelium-Guided Wind Probe] for Dynamo, and

  • [Spores of Ever-Burning Spark] for Bloodtithe.

[Mycelium-Guided Wind Probe] is all about feeding Dynamo into the [Pulsing Field] array. As more Dynamo is fed into the array, it gets stronger. This Euphoria buff gives him 10 [Dynamo] when entering battle and 10 [Dynamo] per action. At the end of the round, Ezra feeds up to 20 [Dynamo] into the array.

The rest of the Euphoria buff focuses on making a better shielder. The main takeaway is that his shields now last 2 rounds (finally) and stack on top of other shields. When the [Pulsing Field] array is at level 3, Ezra grants shields equal to that of his rank 2 buff whenever a mushroom matures. His mushrooms also mature instantly when [Pulsing Field] is level 2/3, and he plants 1 mushroom of each type at the start of the round. This makes him a very AP-positive shielder once you're set up.

Meanwhile, [Spores of Ever-Burning Spark] transforms Ezra into a self-damaging healer. His buff is now a healing incantation that heals more if his own HP is below 50%. He loses more HP when he casts a basic incantation while also planting 2 mushrooms instead of 1; if the max number of mushrooms have been planted, Ezra consumes the HP of all allies to grow all his mushrooms 1 time. Ezra is also quite AP-positive as a healer; at the start of the round and whenever a mushroom matures, all allies recover some HP.

As a final note, Dynamo Ezra has seen a lot more play than Bloodtithe Ezra due to Dynamo lacking teammates. Bloodtithe Ezra can be replaced by other healers like Fatutu and Euphoria Medicine Pocket, but Dynamo has no dedicated sustain other than Ezra as of writing this. Dynamo also really, really needed three teammates to get its array to level 3 in a reasonable amount of time; before Charon's release in 3.0, Ezra was the only way to do so.

  • Euphoria Dynamo: Pretty crucial if you want to play Dynamo on launch in 2.8; great as an array setter with The Third Commitment and dedicated sustain

  • Euphoria Bloodtithe: OK Bloodtithe engine, grants a good amount of healing and is relatively AP-positive

Cons

  • Very AP-negative due to his constant need to set up [Mushroom]s, usually only slotted into 4-man teams due to this

  • His shields only last 1 round

  • Needs extensive set-up to provide results that just barely match newer Supports like Mercuria and Lopera (who comparatively are easier to use)

  • Euphoria Bloodtithe: Easily replaced by other healers

Ezra's niche in [Dynamo] comps is being their Array setter in slot 1 so he can run The Third Commitment for its 6%–12% Incantation/Ultimate Might boost to the [Pulsing Field] array. You have to put Ezra in the first team slot for this to work. The HP% substat is also fantastic for his HP-scaling kit.

Beyond Wonderland is Ezra's best option both pre-Euphoria and post-[Bloodtithe]-Euphoria. As his Genesis DMG scales off of Max HP and can crit, both the HP% substat and 21% Crit Rate work with him perfectly. It also enables his debuff to scale his Insight III HP recovery; his Bloodtithe-Euphoria makes his shield incantation a healing incantation instead, making this Healing Bonus even more important.

With the [Dynamo] Euphoria module, Aurora After Winter becomes a compelling option for Ezra. Capping out at 12%–24% Critical DMG for all allies at max stacks, this psychube boosts Ezra's supportive capabilities greatly. Also, while he doesn't benefit from the ATK boost, the HP% substat is highly synergistic with his kit.

The Fighter's Best Wishes also has an HP% substat. Since Ezra sacrifices his own HP, he is often below the 80% HP needed for the DMG Taken Reduction passive (especially with Bloodtithe-Euphoria). This psychube also increases the Genesis DMG he deals with his debuff.

A Petrify team surrounding Jessica(E). Honestly, [Moss On Stone] is a dogwater way of inflicting [Petrify] but the bonus Incan Might and guaranteed Crits on enemies with [Petrify] is very decent. This is largely supported by Hissabeth bringing a consistent way of triggering BoN for Jessica alongside [Petrify] (and more dmg dan Jessica) while using only 1 AP and Druvis(E) grants large ATK, DMG and Pen bonsues with [Circle of Life]. This is then kept safe by Ezra Theodore(E, either one) by expediting his [Mushroom]s and improving his team sustain.
