Review

Shakir is S-Level Warrior from the Mauler faction. He is a Jack-of-all-trades who surprisingly actually great at everything he does, making him a core member of Mauler-based teams.

Let's start on his transformation ultimate 'Ravaging Claws'. Shakir jumps up and turns into Wolf Form, knocks the enemy occupying the tile he lands into, and then deals damage to nearby enemies. While in Wolf Form, his normal attacks turn from singular to an arc that can deal damage to multiple enemies. It turns 'Savage Cleave' as well from a 3-hit attack to one enemy to a 3-hit frontal arc attack that can deal damage to multiple enemies which on his Supreme+ Passive will reduce the Vitality of enemies hit by it for a few seconds. It also emits a 'Lupine Aura' with a radius of 2 tiles near him which allies get reduced damage taken and increased haste while under it. Wolf's Will by default gives Shakir Range DEF but in Wolf Form, he gets Unaffected, Life Drain, and also increased ATK for every non-summoned ally that is under 'Lupine Aura' which at lvl 10 of his Exclusive Equipment the increased ATK will also benefit the allies under 'Lupine Aura'.

Shakir's Hero Focus is rather unique, granting him damage reduction that can be increased if there is at least 2 non-summoned allies under 'Lupine Aura'. Unlocking his Exclusive Equipment will make Shakir's ultimate double the needed energy to charge before going Wolf Form and when you do get to Wolf Form you have a few seconds of free uptime on his Wolf Form. Overall, unlocking the Exclusive Equipment helps Shakir have more uptime on his Wolf Form and the benefits that came with it even though it does take more time for you to charge it up. Very viable on all game modes because of the versatility of his kit, Shakir is a good target for ascending for the Quality of Life change on the transformation ultimate.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Good combination of damage, tankiness, and support abilities,

  • Shines in every content - both PVE and PVP,

  • Core member of the Mauler faction.

Cons

  • Not an auto-friendly character - he may run away from the team, like a cat chasing a mouse, so his aura won't buff his allies.

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?

Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
, while the remaining two levels require additional 45x
Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
. So you get the best bang for your buck stopping at +8.

Color explanation:

  • +0 - the base investment for the character,
  • +5/8 - the next step that you should do when investing into that character,
  • +10/15 - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
