Mutual Reflection

Unlocks at level 1

Cooldown: 1.25s

Range: Global

Initial Energy: 0

Reinier selects an enemy, dealing 230% damage. If the count of allied non-summoned units equals or exceeds the number of enemy non-summoned units on the battlefield, Reinier enters another dimension with the target for 10s. Other wise, Reinier remains on the battlefield. If the target is under Steadfast or Unaffected, or if the target is the only non-summoned enemy alive, Reinier will deal 450% damage instead of entering another dimension. This skill prioritizes the healthiest non-summoned enemy.

Unlocks at level 51: The Mutual Reflection works on an extra enemy if non-summoned enemies outnumber allies by at least 2. Reduces the duration of transferring this enemy to another dimension to 7s.

Unlocks at level 111: Increases the damage to 250%. The damage is increased to 460% if the target is steadfast, unaffected, or the only non-summoned unit alive.

Unlocks at level 171: Increases the damage to 260%. The damage is increased to 480% if the target is steadfast, unaffected, or the only non-summoned unit alive.

Dynamic Balance

Unlocks at level 11

Whenever the enemy hero takes damage, the allied hero restores HP equal to 45% of the enemy hero's taken damage till a battle ends. The total HP recovery amount by this means is no more than 1000% in a consecutive 8s.

Unlocks at level 71: Restores allied hero's HP equal to 46% of damage dealt.

Unlocks at level 131: Restores allied hero's HP equal to 48% of damage dealt.

Unlocks at level 191: Restores allied hero's HP equal to 50% of damage dealt.

Skill II

Golden Ratio

Unlocks at level 31

Cooldown: 12s

Range: Global

Reinier launches a mighty strike against the healthiest enemy through the portal, interrupting them and dealing 45% damage 8 times. Afterward, Reinier punches and knocks them up, dealing 120% damage. If the enemy's HP is above 61.8%, then each hit attaches extra damage equal to 1% of their current HP, up to 20% of ATK.

Unlocks at level 91: Reinier senses satisfaction when each enemy hero's HP drops below 61.8% for the first time, recovering 200% of his ATK as HP and 80 Energy.

Unlocks at level 151: The damage of each strike is increased to 1.2% of the enemy's current HP.

Unlocks at level 211: Reinier shares satisfaction with allies when each enemy hero's HP drops below 61.8% for the first time, granting all allies 120% of his ATK as HP and 50 Energy.

Reinier is an S-Level Support of the Hypogean faction. His kit is centered around the idea of symmetry, focusing on inflicting and applying effects to his allies and enemies equally to keep things in balance (as all things should be).

The core part of his kit is "Dynamic Balance" which causes him, at the start of the round, to swap the position of his pre-targeted ally and the enemy on the opposite side's matching tile. The teleported ally is healed whenever the teleported enemy takes damage, meaning that most units can sustain for a surprisingly long amount of time while under this effect, especially if they have self-healing (this doesn't swap Dream Realm bosses, the effects still apply and the targeted ally is teleported directly to the boss). His second skill, "Golden Ratio" causes him to pummel an enemy, interrupting them and knocking them up while dealing extra damage if the target's HP is above specifically 61.8%.

Reinier's Ultimate "Mutual Reflection", causes him to target a non-summoned enemy (with the highest HP%) and if the amount of non-summoned allies equals or is higher than the amount of non-summoned enemies, he and his target are both teleported into another dimension for some time. If this condition is not met, Reinier stays in the normal dimension and his enemy is teleported alone. This gives Reinier access to some pretty sweet crowd control that also allows him to dodge some big attacks, and contributes to the whole idea of affecting both enemy and ally equally.

His Exclusive Weapon unlocks the "Tuned Art" skill, which causes Reineir to knock down the enemy he swaps with "Dynamic Balance" and increase their damage taken for the rest of the battle.

Reinier is partly disruptive and partly defensive buffing, and he is notorious for functioning in basically every team and all content (as his character design implies). In AFK Stages and PVP he can take care of specific enemies, throwing crowd control at them before locking them up with his Ultimate, while in Dream Realm and other boss modes, he inflicts several powerful (de)buffs that make the fight considerably easier. And this is all for just a single copy because while his "Tuned Art" is certainly powerful, the rest of his powerful kit is accessible from the get-go.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Extremely versatile kit, flexible faction, and multifaceted (de)buffs.

  • Works in all Dream Realm through powerful single-target effects and HP% damage.

  • Works in AFK Stages and PVP through powerful crowd control,

  • His kit is functional from the first copy onwards and investment only improves him.

Cons

  • Healing relies on team damage and only affects one pre-determined target.

  • Requires his EX weapon to shine in Dream Realm.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?

Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
, while the remaining two levels require additional 45x
Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
. So you get the best bang for your buck stopping at +8.

Color explanation:

  • +0 - the base investment for the character,
  • +5/8 - the next step that you should do when investing into that character,
  • +10/15 - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
