Spirit Salvation

Unlocks at level 1

Cooldown: 1s

Range: Global

Initial Energy: 0

Niru casts the spell to protect an ally from a fatal blow, turning them into a Spirit and restoring their HP to 45% of max HP. The Spirit cannot be attacked and will be defeated when its HP runs out. The Spirit can only deal 45% of its original damage while losing an increasing amount of HP every second. This skill prioritizes the weakest ally.

Unlocks at level 51: For every (up to 5) non-summoned enemy defeated, the blessed ally restores an extra 10% of max HP when entering the Spirit form.

Unlocks at level 111: For every non-summoned enemy defeated, the ally in Spirit form restores 10% of max HP (up to 5 times for each character).

Unlocks at level 171: Ally in Spirit form deals 55% of the original damage.

Unlocks at level 231: Ally in Spirit form deals 65% of the original damage.

Unlocks at level 131: Increases additional damage to 0.4 times of the target's lost HP, up to 600%.

Review

Review

Niru is an A-Level Support of the Graveborn faction. His kit revolves around forcing his allies to stay alive beyond death in the form of spirits.

The way he accomplishes this is through the use of "Spirit Salvation", his Ultimate, which causes him to target the weakest ally and protect them from fatal damage. Upon dying, they are revived as a Spirit that continues fighting and cannot be targeted (though they're constantly losing HP). At higher levels, the fewer enemies remain on the field when affected allies turn into Spirits, the more HP they start with.

His other two skills are simple. "Soul Reaping" is a single-target damage skill that deals increased damage to low-HP targets while "Soul Drain" absorbs HP from enemies to restore an equal amount to the lowest HP ally, resulting in surprisingly high single-target burst healing especially into tanky comps.

Niru's Exclusive Weapon "Soul Sponge" causes him to apply "Spirit Salvation" once immediately when the battle starts, prioritizing the ally right behind him. At +5, this also prevents Spirit allies from losing HP until all allies are in Spirit form, greatly improving their survivability.

Initially believed to be niche, Niru found a spot in one of the most annoying team comps to date that pairs him with Thoran (EX) and Igor (EX) to create a set-up that is virtually impossible to kill without some very sleek crowd control or burst rotations. Even then, Niru's immediate Ultimate cast has a high chance of throwing a wrench into those strategies.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Very good at keeping allies alive even beyond death, especially after EX.

  • Can be remarkably tanky under certain teambuilding circumstances.

Cons

  • Doesn't provide anything besides healing and Spirit gimmick.

  • Can feel lackluster in damage due to being melee and being prone to getting blown up by accident.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?

Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
, while the remaining two levels require additional 45x
Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
. So you get the best bang for your buck stopping at +8.

Color explanation:

  • +0 - the base investment for the character,
  • +5/8 - the next step that you should do when investing into that character,
  • +10/15 - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
