Mirael is an A-Level Mage from the Lightbearer faction. Her performance may not be desirable, she is a decent burst mage from her ult but held back by the rest of her kit with no utility to make up for her shortcomings.

Her ult 'Winged Flame', is great for dealing a lot of damage. The only comment on this is that she cannot charge her ult fast to use this unless you're paired with 'Rowan' which you should if ever you want to use Mirael. Going to the rest of Mirael's kit, 'Bone Sear' is a good skill for constantly burning an enemy for a good amount of time but it doesn't deal that much cause of the low scaling. Her Supreme+ passive extends the burn time of 'Bone Sear' which is not really bad but would be better if it increases the damage of the burn.

'Fireball Singe' has terrible damage on a long cooldown even though it also hits enemies 1 tile nearby the original target. If you decide that the waifu is enough for her to ascend towards Mythic+, 'Fiery Blood' changes Mirael's normal attacks to 'Fireball Singe' - so now she will throw 2 fireballs per attack that also hits enemies nearby the original target which is great for groups that are close to each other. 'Hero Focus' amplifies her ATK SPD which will be a big deal when you ascend her to Mythic+. On lvl 2 of the EX Weapon, after Mirael casts her ult, 'Bone Sear' now burns 2 enemies which is still underwhelming cause the skill itself has low scaling.

Compared to other damage carries, Mirael does fall behind a lot but if you decide to make her work then try reaching for Mythic+. Then again, I don't suggest ascending Mirael early cause you want to focus on other A Lightbearer characters like 'Marilee' and 'Korin'.

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?

Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
, while the remaining two levels require additional 45x
Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
. So you get the best bang for your buck stopping at +8.

Color explanation:

  • +0 - the base investment for the character,
  • +5/8 - the next step that you should do when investing into that character,
  • +10/15 - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
