Review
Kafra is an A-Level Warrior from the Wilder faction. On initial inspection, he is written off as mediocre and perhaps one of the worst characters in the game, after actually testing him however, we found him quite a bit better than people make him out to be.
The key part of his kit is "Wind Mark", which reduces the Phys Def of the enemy marked with Forest Mark. When this enemy dies, a burst of healing applies to all allies near that target. This outputs a surprising amount, and can potentially be a key factor in sustaining melee-oriented teams. His other skill, "Relentless Sword", allows him to quickly rush into the enemy team, allowing him to easily keep up with any melee fighters on the team.
His Ultimate, "Gale Thrust" is the most unimpressive part of his kit, being a simple 1-target nuke with a knockback. Still, a 500-550% modifier is not to be underestimated, and Kafra can output a decent amount of burst (we've all seen the overleveled Kafra enemies in AFK Stages rushing our entire teams down).
His Exclusive Weapon grants Kafra access to "Exiling Strike", which causes him to specifically target enemy healers, deal damage to them, and reduce their Haste. Not only is this decent for stalling potent healers like Rowan or Hewynn, at +5 he also receives a shield when casting "Gale Thrust", helping him survive on the frontlines.
On first read and try he doesn't do much, a bit of damage and some random healing, but through testing we've found that Kafra is capable of keeping up with genuine Supports in terms of healing output over the course of a fight, assuming he's running in melee oriented teams with units like Seth, Shakir, Satrana, Valen etc. In addition, his healing is entirely reliant on opponents with his Forest Mark dying, so he struggles in content where the idea isn't to kill a bunch of ads. As such, while still not great, he is nowhere near as useless as made out to be and certainly has a niche he can fulfill.
Remarkably high healing output in melee teams rivaling that of actual Supports.
Decent single-target damage.
Loses functionality when not run in almost exclusively melee comps.
Doesn't really do anything besides healing and damage with some minor debuffing on the side.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?
Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x
