Review

Review

Granny Dahnie is a S-Rank Wilder Tank who was once one of the best Frontliners for PVP due to her self-healing, tankiness, and debuffs. However, nowadays, she is not as commonly used across any game mode, as newer Frontliners with better utility have been introduced, making her less relevant.

Her main attraction is her Ultimate, which prevents enemies near her from moving, while dealing damage and reducing their energy, while Granny heals for the damage dealt. Seed Cannon activates whenever an enemy deals 15% of Granny's max HP, retaliating with damage and reducing the enemy's Haste. Angry Taunt forces the enemy targeting the weakest ally (usually a support or DPS hero) to focus on Granny instead.

Her Hero Focus on Vitality increases further when she casts her Ultimate, enhancing the healing she receives. Upon unlocking Mythic+, Granny becomes much tankier and heals herself for a duration when her HP falls below half. Supreme+ makes Granny recover additional HP when using Seed Cannon, further boosting her sustain.

Performance in Various Game Modes:
  • Story and AFK/Talent Stages - She is not often used for pushing AFK stages, but she is still a solid choice for her tankiness and utility. The issue is that other Frontliners have outpaced her usefulness, making her less of a top pick.

  • Dream Realm - She is completely useless here, as she doesn’t provide anything that helps in Bossing type content.

  • PVP - While still good for PVP, she has been outpaced by other Frontliners, making her less commonly picked in PVP Arena. However, you may still see her in Supreme Arena, where the requirement of 3 teams allows for her to be slotted in.

  • Battle Drills - She isn't used much here either, as there aren't many reasons to pick her with better frontlining and utility options available. However, that doesn't mean she is completely useless in this context.

Conclusion

Granny Dahnie is still a solid Frontliner thanks to her utility, and she may make a comeback in the future if the meta shifts in her favor. If that happens, focus on investing in Mythic+ to make her much tankier, and then level up her EX Weapon to +10 for the stats. While the effects of her Mythic+ Passive are active, she becomes immune to CC.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?

Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
, while the remaining two levels require additional 45x
Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
. So you get the best bang for your buck stopping at +8.

Color explanation:

  • +0 - the base investment for the character,
  • +5/8 - the next step that you should do when investing into that character,
  • +10/15 - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
