Review

Review

Fay is an A-Level Support from the Lightbearer faction. She is the first healer you will get when you start the game. She is serviceable as a support until you get a better healer from the gacha. She is not completely useless but has problems with the kit that makes her really frustrating to use.

On her kit, she has heals from all of her skills but it's mediocre in one way or another. Her ult, 'Vibrant Dance'; she heals allies in an arc with good scaling and increases their ATK for a decent amount of time. The problem with this is that the arc is like a diamond shape so it can miss allies completely, healing only maybe 1 or even 2 - and the skill upgrades rather than increasing the range, just make the heal stronger.

'Healing Gemstones' heals the weakest hero for a low amount of scaling for a few seconds and it has a long cooldown. Upgrades on the skill just give a little bit more scaling to the heal itself. 'Blinding Light' damages an enemy and heals allies within 5 tiles of her. Yet again with the long cooldown, the scaling is nice and once you reach level 3, you will also get some additional DEF / MDEF shred based on the enemy type.

'Hero Focus' gives her more HP which is pretty much useless on a support cause you want them to have either more ATK or haste buffing either themselves or their allies as well. In the chance that you actually witnessed Mythic+ Fay, it doesn't make her more tolerable but gives you a reminder of how disappointing Vibrant Dance and Healing Gemstones are.

In short, you will forget that she exists after the first minutes of the game or earlier if you get a better healer after the tutorial summons are over. Don't bother with this hero. Why are you still here?

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Why does the +8 breakpoint appear so often?

Because the raw stats you get from upgrading the EX weapon help you more than the passive in some cases. Also, to upgrade the EX from +5 to +8 you need only 30x

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
, while the remaining two levels require additional 45x
Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
. So you get the best bang for your buck stopping at +8.

Color explanation:

  • +0 - the base investment for the character,
  • +5/8 - the next step that you should do when investing into that character,
  • +10/15 - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
