Introduction

Argus is a 6✦ rarity character from the Plant afflatus who deals Reality damage and belongs to the Sub DPS class.

A single-target specialist, Argus casts frequent high-ranking incantations and applies strong damage buffs and the potent [Pinpointed] debuff. Not only does [Pinpointed] reduce DMG Taken Reduction and Crit DEF, but it strengthens with the incantation rank of attacks hitting the enemy. Argus increases [Pinpointed] through her access to [Empower Incantation] and her extra action, [Grave Digger], which gains ranks based on the total ranks of the selected incantations. As such, Argus synergizes well with characters who cast or benefit from high-ranking incantations.

1-target attack. Deals 500% Reality DMG to the target. Right before attacking, if the target is in the [Pinpointed] status, increases the [Pinpointed] status by 5 stacks, refreshes the duration of the entire stack, and grants Penetration Rate +30% and Critical Rate +30% to this attack.

Pinpointed:

DMG Taken Reduction -15%, Critical DEF -15%. After being attacked by a rank 1/2/3/rankless incantation, increase the stack of this status by 2/3/4/1, with each stack inflicting additional DMG Taken Reduction -2% and Critical DEF -2% (updating stacks via this effect does not refresh the duration of existing stacks; stackable up to 15 times).

Insight III

Right before the incantations in the AP Area resolve, add a ranked incantation [Grave Digger] to the spell queue based on the total ranks of the incantations played this round. This attack is considered an extra action and prioritizes targets with [Pinpointed].

3-4 ranks in total: add a rank 1 incantation. 1-target attack, deals 100% Reality DMG. 5-6 ranks in total: add a rank 2 incantation. 1-target attack, deals 150% Reality DMG and gains Moxie +1 for self. 7+ ranks in total: add a rank 3 incantation. 1-target attack, deals 300% Reality DMG, and gains Moxie +1 for self. This attack is always a critical hit.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Best single-target debuffer in the game, inflicts a massive (total) -45% DMG Taken Reduction and Crit DEF (at P0).
Has an Extra Incantation in [Grave Digger], providing synergy with FUA teams and Mercuria [Cosmic Energy].
She has access to a few really good niches such as [Incantation Empowerment] for Upgrade teams and a full Dispel on her debuff Incantation.

Cons

Almost pathetic personal DMG output.
Works exclusively in single-target fights.

“Stray Off the Path” is Argus' signature psychube. It gives Crit Rate, Incantation Might on her FUA, and a lot of Crit DMG. “Outside the City” is a perfect backup option that gives an incredible amount of Crit Rate and Crit DMG. “Luxurious Leisure” makes Argus' Ultimate a fantastic source of burst damage. A good option for when she's on a rank-up team, since she gains Moxie when you cast a lot of high-ranked incantations. “Blasphemer of Night” is a flexible general use option if you don't want to hyper-invest into Argus. Best used with Marcus or some other Neg Stat applicator.
