If Galbrena does not land when interrupted during the barrage, she cannot immediately cast this skill again. Release Normal Attack during the barrage to cast Plunging Attack.
Press Normal Attack after the Plunging Attack to cast Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution Stage 3.
Dodge Counter - Purgatory Scourge
Press Normal Attack right after a successful Dodge to attack the target, dealing Fusion DMG, considered Heavy Attack DMG.
Press Normal Attack right after casting this skill to cast Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution Stage 4.
Resonance Skill - Ravage
Dash forward and leap into the air. Flip backward upon hitting the target, dealing Fusion DMG, considered Heavy Attack DMG.
Consume Purging Flame on hit. Resonance Skill - Ravage and Resonance Skill - Encroach share a cooldown.
Hellstride
Press Dodge on the ground while casting Galbrena's own skills to cast Hellstride to deal a fixed amount of Fusion DMG, considered Basic Attack DMG that does not bear any effect from DMG buffs. Hellstride can trigger successful Dodges. Hellstride cannot be cast consecutively.
Casting this skill does not reset the attack cycles within a short period of time.
Burning Drive
Casting Intro Skill, Hellstride, Normal Attack - Seraphic Execution Basic Attack Stage 4, Resonance Skill - Encroach, Resonance Skill - Ascent of Malice, and Resonance Skill - Ravage increases Galbrena's resistance to interruptions and ATK by 20% for 4s.
Afterflame
Galbrena can hold up to 40 points of Afterflame.
While in Threshold State, Galbrena recovers 8 points of Afterflame when Resonators in the nearby team cast Echo Skill. Echoes with the same name can only trigger this effect once. This effect resets when Galbrena exits Demon Hypostasis.
All Afterflame is removed upon exiting Demon Hypostasis.
Sinflame
Galbrena can hold up to 100 points of Sinflame.
While in Threshold State, hitting an enemy with Basic Attack, Heavy Attack - Volley of Death, Mid-air Attack - Ashfall Barrage, Resonance Skill - Encroach, and Intro Skill - Hellflare Overload recovers Sinflame.
Oathbound Hunt
1 stack of Fated End is inflicted on the target when the following skills hit: Intro Skill, Basic Attack, Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution, Dodge Counter, Heavy Attack - Volley of Death, Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict, Mid-air Attack, Hellstride, Resonance Skill - Encroach, Resonance Skill - Ascent of Malice, Resonance Skill - Ravage and Resonance Liberation, up to 4 stacks.
Each stack Amplifies the DMG directly dealt by Galbrena's Normal Attack, Resonance Skill, Forte Circuit, Resonance Liberation, Intro Skill, and Outro Skill by 5% for 5.5s. The same type of skill can trigger this effect on the same target once every 5s.
Resonance Skill - Encroach and Resonance Skill - Ravage are considered the same type of skill.
Sin Feaster
Casting Basic Attack Stage 4, Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution Stage 5, Heavy Attack - Volley of Death Stage 3, and Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict Stage 3 recovers 10 points of STA.
Hellflare Overload
Attack the target and deal Fusion DMG.
Hold Normal Attack after casting this skill to cast Heavy Attack - Volley of Death Stage 2. While in Demon Hypostasis, cast Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict Stage 2 instead.
Press Normal Attack right after casting this skill to perform Basic Attack Stage 2, which is replaced with Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution Stage 2 if Galbrena is in Demon Hypostasis.
Ashen Pursuit
Attack the target, dealing Fusion DMG equal to 79.5%*3+556.5% of Galbrena's ATK.
Sequence Node 1
When casting Resonance Skill - Ascent of Malice, each point of Afterflame additionally grants 2% Crit. DMG to Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution, Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict, Mid-air Attack - Hellsent Barrage, Resonance Skill - Ravage, and Dodge Counter - Purgatory Scourge, up to 80%. This effect is removed upon exiting Demon Hypostasis.
While in Demon Hypostasis, Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution Stage 5, Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict Stage 3, and Mid-air Attack - Hellsent Barrage are immune to interruption.
Sequence Node 2
Burning Drive grants 350% more ATK Bonus.

Sequence Node 5
The DMG Multipliers of Resonance Skill - Encroach, Resonance Skill - Ascent of Malice, and Resonance Skill - Ravage are increased by 150%.
Sequence Node 6
Demon Hypostasis becomes Eternal Hypostasis. Eternal Hypostasis retains all effects of Demon Hypostasis.
Additionally, Eternal Hypostasis lasts, the DMG Multipliers of Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution, Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict, Mid-air Attack - Hellsent Barrage, and Dodge Counter -Purgatory Scourge are additionally increased by 60%.
When casting Resonance Skill - Ascent of Malice, for every 1 point of Afterflame consumed, Galbrena's Basic Attack - Seraphic Execution, Heavy Attack - Flamewing Verdict, Mid-air Attack - Hellsent Barrage, Resonance Skill - Ravage, and Dodge Counter -Purgatory Scourge gain 0.875% Fusion DMG Amplification, up to 35%, which is removed upon exiting Eternal Hypostasis.
While the source of the materials can be quickly found in the game, when it comes Stone Rose you will have to gather them from the map. Check our Interactive map to find them quickly:

Please keep in mind Wuthering Waves is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Wuthering Waves is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.
Tower of Adversity
Tower of Adversity (Sig)
Whimpering Wastes
Whimpering Wastes (Sig)
Is the best Fusion damage dealer currently in the game;
Has lots of different teammate options and performs well with all of them;
Signature weapon isn’t necessary to perform alongside good teammates — standard 5-star is easily acceptable;
Has a really strong Dodge Counter combo, meaning she isn’t affected by enemies being more aggressive provided the player can execute proper Perfect Dodging;
Her Outro only does damage, meaning she doesn’t restrict the next character from quickswapping — this adds a lot to her damage ceiling.
Has a rather bland playstyle only dependent on pressing Basic Attacks or occasionally executing Dodge Counters;
The overwhelming majority of her damage is loaded into the last two thirds of her rotation. In a meta where constant AoE output is important for one of the two hardest endgame modes, this significantly lowers her pull value;
Galbrena excels in the Mono Fusion team, but Changli is very competitive for her spot. Galbrena may be a redundant pull in this team if Changli is already owned, not because she isn’t stronger, but because the difference is marginal (particularly if neither of them own their Signature weapon).
Galbrena is a 5-star Fusion Pistol DPS who, despite what her weapon class would make you think, gets up close and personal with her targets to deal massive Cleave damage to them under her enhanced state called Demon Hypostasis. Accessing this state and optimizing its damage via Galbrena’s numerous self-buffs included in her kit is the key to unleashing her full potential.
Galbrena’s kit focuses around entering a stance called Demon Hypostasis. It allows her to cast massively enhanced attacks that deal the overwhelming majority of her damage at the cost of Forte points called Sinflame. They get converted 1 to 1 into Purging Flame which is then expended to cast her enhanced moves in Demon Hypostasis. As a result, the focus of her kit is generating her max of 100 Sinflame to then expend it after entering Demon Hypostasis, entered by casting her Enhanced Skill.
The amount of Sinflame currently generated is visible on her Forte bar, marked in blue outside of Demon Hypostasis. In Demon Hypostasis, only Purging Flame will be visible.
Via her Inherent Passives, Galbrena possesses Stamina recovery on a lot of her attacks, and a ramp-up DMG Amplify effect up to 20% which is easy to fully stack, as well as 20% ATK which will be up throughout most of her rotation. A lot of self-buffs make for a strong, self-sufficient kit.
Furthermore, she additionally possesses an extra Forte bar marked in red, and it stacks up to 40 points. It is called Afterflame, and it replenishes by casting Echo skills, at a rate of 8 points per. This increases the DMG Taken of enemies during Demon Hypostasis by up to 60% (1.5% per point).
The above is especially important because DMG Taken is a multiplier very rarely seen in character kits (mostly high Sequences like Cartethyia’s and Phrolova’s). On any character currently, in most cases it is rare enough to be considered a completely unique multiplier that buffs overall damage by whatever percentage is indicated. In other words, Galbrena’s damage increases by up to 60% with multiple Echo skill casts on the team u can replace it by (in her best teams, this will typically not be maxed out and be left at 36% without Phrolova, 48% with Phrolova).
And for those who are curious: DMG Taken is the opposite of DMG Reduction observable in Tower of Adversity. They interact with one another directly and are considered the same damage multiplier.
Outside of Demon Hypostasis, Galbrena will mostly want to execute Basic Attacks because they replenish her Forte gauge the fastest. As a result, we can exploit the following during her rotations:
Intro leads into Basic Attack 2;
Basic Attack 4 leads into Basic Attack 2;
Dodge Counter leads into Basic Attack 4 (situational).
Basic Attack 4 is a great Swap Cancel window if no Outro buffs are currently active on Galbrena.
Additionally, her Enhanced Skill has a very short animation as it is a very short slash which has a small amount of endlag. This endlag will be animation-cancelled on hit by her Ultimate to save a small amount of time.
Finally, her Ultimate increases the DMG multiplier of all attacks in Demon Hypostasis by 85% which means it is necessary to cast before entering Demon Hypostasis because this buff represents a massive damage boost. However, the 20% DMG Amplify from her Inherent skill should be fully stacked up before using it to maximize damage (simply doing Intro + Basic Attack + Enhanced Skill is sufficient!)
During Demon Hypostasis, Galbrena only has her Basic Attack and Dodge Counter that she should worry about in order to fully expend her Forte gauge. There are 3 different properties to note here:
Ultimate leads into Basic Attack 2;
Basic Attack 5 leads into Basic Attack 3;
Dodge Counter leads into Basic Attack 4.
All of these properties are used in her rotation to skip out on the weak Basic Attack 1 and only focus on the much stronger Basic Attacks 3, 4 and 5 which have much higher damage values than the first two. Additionally, the Dodge Counter is really strong and for all intents and purposes replaces Basic Attack 3 as a better version, both in Forte consumption and in damage.
What this means is that Galbrena’s full Dodge Counter combo is really strong and particularly important to execute whenever possible. If an enemy attack is incoming, make sure to Perfect Dodge it and execute her Dodge Counter combo to take Galbrena’s damage to new heights!
Starting from max Forte, 2 Dodge Counter combos or 2 full Basic 3,4,5 combos can be executed (alongside a Basic 2 to start with). The final Basic 5 can and should be Swap Cancelled for optimal damage.
In practice, all of Galbrena’s Mid-Air Attacks, her base Resonance Skill, her Hellstride attack, and all Heavy Attacks will go unused. They are not essential to her rotation and deal less damage than her Basic Attacks and Dodge Counters, so optimally Galbrena will not want to use them to optimize damage during her field time.
Galbrena is a very simple Basic Attack spam character, whose only real damage ceilings reside in her rotation outside of Demon Hypostasis (where her Forte gauge can be generated before Introing into her in certain teams, particularly those involving Lupa to nearly immediately go into Demon Hypostasis after Intro and save time) as well as her ability to execute strong Dodge Counters during Demon Hypostasis.
Beyond this, she has very little intricacies to her kit and as a result presents herself as a strong Fusion main damage dealer who can benefit from a wide variety of teammates, ranging from Brant/Mortefi + Lupa, to Phrolova + Shorekeeper, or even Mortefi + Shorekeeper/Verina for more F2P-accessible units. And the best part is that she can perform with all of these teammates. However, as the main damage dealer of all teams she is present in, she will definitely require a strong weapon to boot, ideally her Signature, but with strong teammates, she can function on Static Mist (the standard banner 5-star pistol) just fine.
In conclusion, Galbrena functions in a main damage dealer archetype that has been done several times in the past, but despite functioning in a classic role she is also very strong in her niche. Her only real weakness is multi-wave content found in Whimpering Wastes, due to the nature of her kit focusing around a strong burst damage window instead of constant damage output (which is generally favourable for multi-wave). With that being said, she can also function there given enough effort and a strong enough team, making her specialized against Boss encounters, yet still generally usable in AoE situations as well.
As the new best single-target Fusion damage dealer in the game, Galbrena cements herself a comfortable spot in the Wuthering Waves meta, using a variety of teammates, taking new and old characters alike to new heights.

Below you can find optimal rotation (or rotations) for Galbrena. The total time needed to perform it is 12.316 seconds. When selecting the rotations we prioritized achieving 100 Concerto as fast as possible and once that condition was fulfilled, we focused on maximizing the damage output. As or if new and more optimal rotations are found, we'll update the characters calculations as needed.
The focus of Galbrena’s kit lies on building her 2 Forte resources - Afterflame (in red) and Sinflame (in blue) - to then use them during her Demon Hypostasis state (entered via her Enhanced Skill obtained by fully restoring her Sinflame bar).
To restore Sinflame, the most efficient ways are Basic Attacks and Dodge Counters. This is also her most efficient way to deal damage during Demon Hypostasis. As a result, they are what we will make use of in her rotation.
To restore Afterflame, it is dependent on Echo skill casts and that is solely provided by casting active Echo skills or having specific teammates like Phrolova who have additional attacks that count as Echo skill casts. This means we always want to cast Galbrena’s active Echo Skill before entering Demon Hypostasis to restore Afterflame and expend it during Demon Hypostasis to enhance Galbrena’s damage.
With these factors in mind, below is what her standard rotation should look like:
Standard Rotation

Dodge Counters are a big deal for Galbrena as they can directly combo into her Basic P4 (whether in or out of Demon Hypostasis). They also deal much higher damage than any of her multipliers, effectively acting as a stronger version of her Basic P3 (both in Forte consumption and generation). Whenever they can be executed, Dodge Counters should always be performed to optimize damage, and followed by Basic Attacks since the later parts of her Basic Attack string are the strongest.
Galbrena’s final Forte Basic P5 can and should be swap-cancelled to optimize her rotation time. The Swap Cancel window is much earlier than you may initially think judging by her animations, so make sure to practice doing it as early as you can. Similarly, the Enhanced Skill cast can be interrupted rather early before the animation fully ends but the damage has landed via her Ultimate, which saves a couple fractions of a second (which is a free DPS increase)! In any case, be careful not to interrupt the animation before the damage actually lands.
Galbrena’s Ultimate could theoretically be used before her Enhanced Skill, however it deals a high amount of damage and as a result we want to stack up her 20% DMG Amplify effect from her Inherent Passive to optimize damage.
Following this point, while Galbrena’s Basic Attacks before her Enhanced Skill can be performed before her Intro, one Basic Attack always needs to be performed to fully stack up this Inherent Passive effect in time for her Ultimate cast. However, to optimize team rotation time (this is particularly applicable with Lupa on the team since she has many Swap Cancel windows), Galbrena can and should ideally perform a Basic 2,3,4 combo before her Intro, to then cast Basic 2,3 after her Intro and proceed with her rotation as normal. This ensures all damage buffs are up while minimizing rotation time. The Basic 4 is swap cancellable (and ideally should be). Note that Galbrena will always start from her Basic 2 if swapped from any character in combat, whether her Intro is available or not.
Make sure to use all of these tricks as needed to optimize damage!

Calculations
Don't use the damage output calculations as an indication on who is worth pulling or investing as those are just simulations and in day-to-day gameplay there's a lot variables and also the skill of the player is important - if you can't consistently perform the character's rotation, their damage will suffer.
As usual, don't compare the numbers between characters - especially between Main DPS and Hybrids as they fulfill different roles in the team.
The numbers below show the character's DPS (Damage Per Second) and DMG (total damage done). When selecting the rotations we prioritized achieving 100 Concerto as fast as possible and once that condition was fulfilled, we focused on maximizing the damage output. As or if new and more optimal rotations are found, we'll update the characters calculations as needed. Listed character calculations are done without buffs or any damage contribution from teammates (full solo). They only include what the character, their Weapon, Echo and gear are capable of during their ideal Burst or Concerto rotation when starting with their Intro and Resonance Liberation available.
Do note that DPS and DMG aren’t perfect metrics for a character’s individual value and should be taken with a grain of salt. Anything pertaining a character’s relevance in the meta is addressed in our Review and Tier List, which the numbers below shouldn’t be used for as an end-all-be-all to. Instead, DPS and DMG are good metrics for a character’s sequence value and comparison between an individual character’s different rotations. We recommend using those metrics for such purposes.
