Introduction

X is a 5✦ rarity character from the Intellect afflatus who deals Reality damage and who belongs to the Support class.

X is a Support focused on entirely just dispelling things. Counters or any types of Positive Stats for the enemies, he can dispel. Every time he dispels a Stats Up, Pos Status, or Counters from enemies he also inflicts Silence. He has Moxie Reduction from his opponent by -2, with the passive his ultimate also makes it so they don't gain any Moxie for 1 turn. X is a unit you will mostly bring in for specific fights, as his effects won't be useful in all situations. Not all enemies will have counters, and not all of them will consistently have buffs that require X to remove. However, he will prove to be valuable in situations where these conditions are met.

Review

X has a variety of utility tools at his disposal. He's able to dispel [Pos Stats], [Stats Up], [Counter], lower enemy Moxie by 2 and still benefit further just from doing his job, as his passive enables him to apply [Silence] and later on, at i3, [Disconcert].

The best part is that usually these tools are needed more often against elite enemies or bosses. While X does not have a good damage output on regular scenarios, most elite enemies and bosses also happen to be from the Spirit afflatus, the only kind a character like X has a DMG advantage against.

Before deciding when to bring X to the team, check the enemies of the stage and what they do. This is a base rule for any Dispel focused character, but even more so to X as his passive inflicts [Silence] only when he dispels something. You should also note that X has a more passive play style, taking his time to merge cards (they only dispel statuses when at level 2 or above) and then acting at key moments. That's not much of an issue, as his function isn't to deal a lot of damage anyway, and it allows him to be relatively AP generous.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Has a wide range of tools to disable enemies;
He is a very neutral character due to his Afflatus, being able to fit in regardless of the team main Afflatus.
Can shine in boss fights, where bosses tend to be of the Spirit Afflatus and rely a lot on buffs and counters. However, check beforehand if the boss has any specific trait specifying that its buffs can't be dispelled.
