Introduction

Necrologist is a 5✦ rarity character from the Mineral afflatus who deals Mental damage and belongs to the Support class.

Necrologist is a unique Support who can prevent allies from dying with her Ultimate, which also provides a decent DMG Dealt buff to all allies. She revolves almost entirely around her Ultimate, though she has some dispel in her kit, meaning that she is an incredibly AP-greedy Support (something often disliked).

Review

Necrologist is a 5-star Mineral Arcanist who excels at keeping your team alive while boosting their damage output.

Her unique asset is “Whispers of the Deceased”, her Ultimate. Upon casting this, she applies [Prayer] to all allies and increases their damage dealt considerably for a whopping 3 rounds. If allies already have [Prayer] she heals them instead.

[Prayer] is consumed when the carrier takes lethal damage, preventing them from dying and instead healing them. This, and her long-lasting damage buff, are the main reason for her use. However, she has no Moxie gain to speak of, forcing her to take up a lot of AP to combine cards or use skills to get said Moxie. This makes her hard-to-use in teams that already have AP-greedy units in them.

But, when paired up with units that can freely allow her to take actions, such as Centurion, An-An Lee and Door, she can make your team almost immortal.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Performs the role of buffer, healer and supportive Carry all at once.
Given the right setup, she can make your team effectively immortal.
Also has a niche option to dispel [Stats Up] and [Pos Status] using “By The Coffin”.
At Portray 5 the DMG Dealt buff from “Whispers of the Deceased” is increased to +50%, the highest in the game.

Cons

Can only work in a few teams due to her AP-greediness. Lackluster performance if she cannot spam her Ultimate.
Really wants Portrays for those sweet +DMG Dealt buff upgrades at P1 and P5.
Doesn’t heal unless your allies have [Prayer], making Necrologist teams very risky in terms of dancing with death.

“Her Second Life” is the 'go to' option here, as you will want Necrologist to use her ultimate as often as possible in order to keep the team buffed and help with extra survivability. With Amplification leveled and this Psychube equipped, Necrologist can take the spot of a healer in some occasions, allowing for double-carry comps.
