Door is a gimmick support unit whose ultimate grants Moxie and [Shield] to his teammates at the cost of his own life. Necrologist can actually keep him alive, making them an interesting support duo. The rest of Door's kit isn't anything to write home about, though.

Door's whole purpose is to die for your team.
His ultimate [To the Universe in the Alley] instantly kills him; in exchange, his teammates get +2 Moxie, a decent Shield, and 2 rounds of [Inspire], which grants 1 Moxie at the start of each round. His Insight I passive grants 1 additional Moxie to all other allies when he dies. His Insight II passive grants 8% DMG Taken Reduction so Door won't die until you want him to.
The rest of his kit is basically useless. [Deep Vortex] and [Converging Mirror] are both attack skills that—due to Door's poor stats—deal very little damage. They don't have any additional effects, either. One's a mass attack. One's a 1-target attack. That's it.
Door was popular in cheese teams with Necrologist at the beginning of the game. Necrologist's [Prayer] can keep Door alive after he casts his ultimate, allowing you to generate Moxie for a third team member (usually a DPS of some kind). You could also run Ms. Radio on the team to deny enemy ultimates. Nowadays, this team sees very little play. Necrologist and Door are both extremely ultimate-reliant but only have mediocre attack skills to cast, making them both weirdly AP-hungry. Door's skills are so useless that some argue it's better to just let him die; however, the loss of Incantation Draw space and AP are rarely worth it.
If you want to build a weird gimmick support, Door is really cheap and kind of funny to use. Just don't expect too much from him.
As a 2-star character, he has an extremely low investment cost and you really don’t need to invest in him at all after Insight I
By casting his ultimate and dying, he can grant a lot of Moxie to his teammates, allowing them to cast their ultimates faster
Has some synergy with Necrologist, who can bring him back to life to cycle his ultimate again
Kind of AP-hungry and complicated to use
Only his ultimate matters; his skills are very useless
Allowing him to die means you have -1 AP and can draw fewer incantations per round

Stats and Build
Prioritizes ATK to maximize Door’s damage output and shield strength. Door’s survivability doesn’t matter at all given her self-destructing Ultimate.
If you don’t have Resonance Patterns unlocked, try this build with Placidity:

Balance, Please lets Door's incantations do some damage against enemies of all Afflatus types, though the Ultimate Might is wasted on him.
Her Second Life increases his abysmal ATK stat while letting him heal on ultimate (more useable if you run him with Necrologist).
The Fighter's Best Wishes and A Free Heart make Door tankier so he can survive until he uses his ultimate.
Offbeat Strides gives +1 Moxie at the start of battle. The rest of the psychube doesn't matter for Door; the extra Moxie allows him to cast his ultimate earlier.
