Introduction

Diggers is a 5✦ rarity character from the Plant afflatus who deals Mental damage and who belongs to the Support class.

Diggers is a debuff based Support with a varied mix of offensive and defensive debuffs. He can shred DEF (universally), reduce incoming damage and lock opponents down with a bit of Control. While he is a pretty effective support, his DEF shred potency is lower than specialized Reality/Mental DEF shredders.

Review

Diggers is a 5-star Plant Debuffer whose kit revolves around both offensive and defensive debuffs. People tend to compare him to Bkornblume, but Diggers is far more oriented around the control aspect of debuffing and has access to defensive effects that also help his team rather than just himself.

In terms of offensive pressure, he isn't lacking, using “Bubblism", he is able to consistently reduce Reality and Mental DEF while inflicting [Terror] at rank 2+, which prevents enemies from properly building their Ultimate; perfect for those pesky stages with opponents that can generate Moxie for themselves or their peers.

Diggers also helps in the defensive department, being able to semi-consistently inflict layers of [Weakness] on an enemy with "Peace Above All” to reduce their outgoing damage. That paired with the [Nightmare] effect on “Sweet Dreams for You” and the [Shield] he can apply to his allies at Insight 3, make it so that he is quite versatile in which teams you can slot him into.

Unfortunately, the potency of his -Reality/Mental DEF is stuck at 15% no matter what rank “Bubblism” is cast on. While this makes it really easy to spam, more specialized units like Bkornblume or Baby Blue can reduce Reality DEF by 25% or Mental DEF by 35% respectively, making them a bit better if the DEF shred is something you care about. Beyond that, Diggers is still rather effective at what he does, and his universal DEF debuff makes him a bit more flexible than his hyper-specialized Debuffer colleagues.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Can be used in both Reality DMG and Mental DMG teams due to his universal DEF shred.
Has an array of defensive options in [Weakness], [Nightmare] and [Shield] on top of his offensive debuffs.
Can be utilized in Plant Control teams with Druvis and Satsuki to pull them through the first few turns with [Shield] so that they can start their [Petrify] combo.

Cons

The potency of his DEF shred debuffs is lower compared to more specialized units like Bkornblume or Baby Blue.
His defensive debuffs are tied to single-target moves (except for [Terror]), making him slightly harder to use as a defensive anchor in multi-target/wave situations.
