Introduction

Bette is a 3✦ rarity character from the Mineral afflatus who deals Reality damage and belongs to the Support class.

A niche single-target defensive support, Bette has seen some use as one of the few sources of [Empower Incantation II]. Her single-target buff increases both DEF stats and decreases DMG Taken%, while her Ultimate grants a target ally a shield and [Empower Incantation II]. She doesn't see much use in endgame content.

Review

Bette is a 3-star Mineral Arcanist with a unique trick up her sleeve. She revolves around protecting and supporting a single ally. To this end, she employs several buffs to help make said ally last through the fight and charge their Ultimate faster.

She offers potent Reality and Mental DEF buffs while reducing damage taken with “Important Part”, which can aid frail allies or those prone to taking damage. However, the real star of the show is Bette’s Ultimate: “Every Audition”. This single-target buff applies a decent [Shield] and [Empower Incantation II] to the selected ally, while her Insight also allows her to grant Moxie to other allies.

What makes Bette uniquely powerful is her ability to grant Moxie to allies and the [Empower Incantation II] she grants with “Every Audition”. With this, she is the only Arcanist that can grant other allies Moxie and upgrade their cards, something not even seen in the currently released 6-star roster.

Though her single-target nature limits her usability in conventional teams, there is one specific use case in which she excels. That being: Eternity. By design, Eternity becomes better the fewer allies are on the field, as she’ll gain her Ultimate more quickly to cycle her sustain. Not only does Bette provide a surefire way for Eternity to last long enough to stack her passive through the “Important Part”. Her [Empower Incantation II] effect and the Moxie she grants with her Insight all help Eternity charge her Ultimate at high speeds. This makes Bette one of the two best picks to run with Eternity as a duo.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Really cheap to raise due to her low rarity.
Potent defensive buffs that can make the squishiest ally tank hits.
The only unit in the game who can grant other allies Moxie and upgrade their cards.

Cons

Buffs are entirely single-target, so she struggles covering for a whole team.
Her low rarity means naturally low stats so she dies rather quickly in higher level content.
