Yen Xing Lanchester (YXL) is a melee-range buff removal specialist with some limited functionality as a frontline tank. YXL’s kit is designed to fulfill the niche of constant buff removal at shorter intervals than what is typically possible from the existing pool of buff removal options.
YXL’s Alternium Reactor marginally improves her kit by adding buff nullification on top of her existing buff removal on Special skill. It also improves her survivability by increasing uptime on her Ultimate skill damage immunity self-buff. YXL’s effective HP is still too low to compete as a frontline tank with stronger alternatives for the role, but her reactor improves her survivability to the point where she at least approaches the baseline requirements expected of her as a frontline tank.
In practice, there are few scenarios where YXL’s rate of buff removal is actually relevant. There are few buffs in the game important enough to warrant bringing a dedicated source of buff removal to begin with and buff removal itself is not an uncommon debuff. With survivability issues and little else to her kit, YXL struggles to distinguish herself (both as a debuffer and as a frontline tank) from the pool of stronger alternatives (e.g. Rearm Kaci, Rearm Alex).
