Volume Up Gaeun (RGaeun) is a flexible backline utility damage dealer who can take on multiple roles thanks to her well-rounded kit.
RGaeun’s kit has a solid mix of damage and crowd control, allowing her to perform either as a single target or AOE damage dealer. RGaeun is a relatively small improvement over her base version; notably, she got a bit more damage, a bit more debuffs and a new ultimate that applies DMG Taken AMP debuff. Her lead skill buffs the entire team’s ASPD, giving her additional means of pushing teamwide damage.
In PVE, RGaeun occupies the competitive dedicated damage dealer niche. Like many others that served the role, RGaeun has inevitably been powercrept out of the meta. Ignoring her performance at the highest levels of competitive content, RGaeun is still a serviceable damage dealer for players who want to incorporate her into their teams.
In PVP, RGaeun may be played as a dedicated damage dealer to shred defenders. Historically, Gaeun was highly regarded as the premier option among the pool of anti-defender damage dealers. RGaeun had an exceptional modern kit at the time she was released, but the times have since caught up to her. In the current state of the game, RGaeun’s damage struggles to keep up with newer, stronger alternatives (e.g. Laika). Meanwhile, her utility has become increasingly irrelevant.

- As a generalist, RGaeun excels at nothing. This becomes a glaring issue at higher levels of competitive content.
