PVP
Sol Badguy is a bulky frontline tank notable for his high uptime DMG RDC self-buff and potent debuffs, applying high uptime ATK and ASPD debuffs to nearby enemies. Sol has a chunky self-heal tied to his Ultimate skill, giving him some self-sufficiency to round out his kit and identity as a debuff-oriented frontline tank.
In PVE, Sol Badguy struggles to distinguish himself from his peers on account of his high DP cost and his lack of relevant debuffs. Sol fulfills the basic functions of a frontline tank but does not have the utility to justify running over more competitive alternatives (e.g. Rearm Kaci, Ciel)
In PVP, Sol’s stat distribution and kit utility lands him comfortably in the pool of viable frontline defenders. His high-value debuffs naturally synergise with other similar debuffs, making him stronger in debuff-oriented teams (e.g. RLaura, Ministra). Note that his survivability is somewhat tied to his DMG RDC self-buff, which can be dispelled. Consider the prevalence of buff removal on a given week when opting to run Sol in your team.
Free,
Competitive statline for a four-cost defender in a price range where units typically go to die,
Decently self-sufficient on account of his DPS-reducing debuffs and self-heal.
Still a bit expensive for what he brings.
Heavily reliant on evasion accessories to bolster his low base evasion.
