Lee Sooyeon (LSY) is a frontline tank who leans heavily into the tanking with her kit of selfish survivability buffs.
LSY’s Alternium Reactor does not directly buff any aspect to her kit, but it does make her significantly more cost-efficient. While not enough to push her into viability, it at the very least addresses her glaring cost issues.
In PVE, frontline tanks with buffs/ debuffs are valued more highly than those focused solely on tanking for themselves. LSY meets (and even exceeds) the baseline requirements expected of her as a frontline tank, but she contributes nothing more to the team.
In PVP, LSY approaches viability as a striker frontline option. Depending on the weekly bans, certain weeks necessitate strong anti-defender damage dealers to punch through the frontline. LSY can be used to punish comps that lean too heavily into killing defenders. As a striker, LSY can become obscenely difficult for rangers to kill, especially with her damage tolerance fully stacked.
LSY is an otherwise middling frontline tank with above-average survivability and little else to her kit.
