Review
Kang Soyoung is a forward-deployment character notable for her ability to deploy anywhere on the map, which can be used creatively as a disruption tool. Kang’s low cost and multi-faceted kit gives her plenty of flexibility in how she can be used... if not for her woefully inadequate stats.
In PVE, Kang’s soldier-specific buffs are not competitive with stronger alternatives (e.g. any of the meta PVE buffers). There exists one scenario where Kang is played for her buffs: when Curian-Vivian burst comps don’t have the DP to play a stronger supporter before their burst goes off. Otherwise, there are stronger alternatives that take priority for the slot.
Of note, Kang sees novel use in Challenge Stages 3-1 to 3-5 as the core component to a cheese strategy that involves spamming Kang off cooldown until Karin, the stage boss, dies of blunt force trauma.
Otherwise, in the current state of the CounterSide, Kang does not have the stats necessary to impact the game in any meaningful way.
