Awakened Chris (AChris) a seven-cost flying supporter notable for her personal damage and global DMG AMP debuff. Additionally, she is the only character in the game with evasion block debuff.
A significant portion of AChris’ power budget is allocated to her Ultimate Skill, which (on top dealing a ton of damage), applies a number of self-buffs. Those buffs include:
Global DMG AMP debuff increase from 15% to 30%
Basic attack damage multiplier increase
50% ASPD self-buff
Special skill cooldown reset
Increased applications of special skill EVA block debuff
While AChris is empowered by her ult self-buffs, she becomes one of the strongest characters in the game. In the absence of those buffs, her performance is underwhelming.
AChris performs well in 16-man content such as raids and CCB where external skill haste buffs (i.e. Yang Harim, AJia) enable her to be geared for more damage without sacrificing the uptime on her ultimate.
AChris is one of the strongest PVP damage dealers in the game, capable of dealing immense damage when empowered by her ultimate self-buffs. However, it can be a challenge getting there. The struggle typically lies in keeping the team afloat for long enough that she reaches that point.
AChris’ prohibitively high cost and low immediate impact can be difficult to work with. As such, she is typically played in teams built to enable her. AChris is frequently played with Sysop (operator) to shore up her rough early game.
That said, AChris does have some immediate impact by way of her ETB. AChris’ ETB deals surprisingly high damage and can frequently oneshot unprotected non-ASSR units on its own. This is most consistent against squishy backline damage dealers like soldiers, but can kill more expensive backliners (e.g. Agnes) with a lucky crit.
AChris’ combination of defensive stats, type (counter-mech hybrid), and role (supporter) make it difficult to target her. Counterplay to AChris is limited to:
Awakened Jake (AJake): AJake is the premier anti-mech option and the most direct means of winning mech matchups. AJake’s kit is designed to counter mechs and AChris is a mech.
Skill haste debuffs: As AChris (and by extension her team) is heavily reliant on the ultimate for damage, delaying her ultimate increases the time before she becomes an actual threat. Skill haste debuffs are most accessible through New Ohio, but can also be accessed through other means.
Counterintuitively, Awakened Lee Sooyeon (ALSY) is pretty bad against AChris for a number of reasons:
Both AChris and ALSY have air target priority but AChris outranges ALSY by a significant margin.
ALSY does not have enough HIT to surefire AChris. This can lead to consistency issues.
- EVA block is a potent offensive debuff that significantly increases damage where applicable
- High survivability for a PVP backliner
- Borderline useless up until she casts her ultimate skill
