Fatima is a PVP-oriented frontline “utility” tank notable for her high impact crowd control on ETB and Special skill. Fatima can chain CC nearby enemies for ~8 seconds on deploy, giving her a valued niche as one of the few sources of on-demand disruption. For a utility tank, Fatima does not compromise on stats; she boasts an impressive health pool rivaling that of rearm defenders, landing her squarely in the pool of competitive priority picks for any given week she is free.
In PVE, frontline tanks with buffs/debuffs are valued more highly than those focused solely on tanking for themselves. Fatima meets the baseline requirements expected of her as a frontline tank, but she contributes nothing more to the team.
In PVP, Fatima fulfills the role of “cheap defender” (e.g. Rearm Alex) while simultaneously providing coverage against high-pressure rush comps. Fatima’s CC shuts down any kind of forward momentum from the enemy team, which can be used to stall out the unhinged levels of burst damage that characterize (among other teams) Sasha-based rush comps. Beyond her initial impact, her relatively short cooldowns let her pump out value as the match progresses.
Fatima combines all the desired qualities of a PVP-oriented frontline tank: durability, utility, and affordability. She provides all these in one cost-effective package, making her a highly attractive option whenever she is free.
