Review

Eins & Zwei (colloquially referred to as “Twins”) is a PVP-oriented multi-unit frontline tank consisting of two counter strikers. Twins are notable for their above average survivability, which when paired with their low cost make them one of the more cost-efficient frontline tanks in the game.

In PVE, frontline tanks with buffs/ debuffs are valued more highly than those focused solely on tanking for themselves. Twins meets the baseline requirements expected of them as a frontline tank, but their cost-efficiency is worth considerably less than what is provided by stronger alternatives (e.g. Ciel, Chifuyu).

In PVP, Twins are played primarily as a cheap frontline tank to stall and quickly cycle the “deck”. Twins are particularly effective at what they do; this can be attributed to the following:

  • As multi-unit strikers, it can be difficult to displace Twins with knockback; Twins already have above average EVA, and as EVA checks are calculated independently for Eins and Zwei, it is incredibly difficult to knock both back (on top of any other frontline tanks deployed alongside them).

  • Twins absorbs two valid hits, as they are two units. This is notable as strikers typically only have one valid hit absorption. Valid hit absorption soaks up AOE and mitigates the damage transferred to the rest of the team.

  • Twins’ Ultimate skill displaces enemy backline in range and gives Twins iframes for the duration of its (long) cast time. It has good value for how cheap Twins are and how low its cooldown is.

Pros & Cons
Pros

- Incredibly cost-effective frontline tanks.

- Deploying as a pair allows Eins & Zwei to more effectively off-tank and provides niche benefits such as some insulation against knockback.

Cons

- Often can spend 1 more DP for a much more consistent tanking option.

- Does not solo frontline well.
