Review
Choi Jihoon is a utility backline damage dealer who assists the team from afar with various effects. Choi Jihoon is notable in that he applies a 100% uptime skill seal + blind with his basic attacks, which can lock down frontline targets and greatly hinder their cast times. Choi Jihoon also has limited backline access through his sure-crit enhanced basic, which targets the furthest enemy in range. Unfortunately, Choi Jihoon struggles to find a real niche for himself.
In PVE, Choi Jihoon’s skill seal doesn’t apply to bosses, severely limiting the situations in which his kit may provide value to the point where he is never realistically a consideration. For all scenarios, there exist more effective alternatives for the role (e.g. Awakened Lyudmila).
In PVP, Choi Jihoon’s “100% uptime” skill seal needs to be constantly reapplied via his basic attacks. The skill seal falls off the moment he is disrupted or the shot is intercepted by another unit. As a backline access unit, Choi Jihoon cannot hold a candle to dedicated disruption units who commit harder and achieve more (e.g. Rearm Eujin, Rearm Sylvia).
Above all, Choi Jihoon’s personal damage output is anemic and without survivability tools himself it is frequently the case that he dies to the slightest pressure without achieving anything.
