Aditya Surya is a backline damage dealer with a powerful stacking ATK% self-buff that allows her to rapidly ramp her damage the longer she is on field. Surya’s kit is notable in that it comes with a massive ASPD buff to allied counters, giving her greatly appreciated offensive utility to push teamwide damage.
Surya’s damage self-buffs and true damage Ultimate skill gives her access to a burst damage nuke. While Surya’s base damage multipliers are nothing special, she can be greatly enabled with proper support and setup to the point where she is competitive as a core damage dealer.
Surya has limited defensive utility through her damage absorption passive (akin to Luna). Otherwise, for a defender, Surya lacks both MDL and VHA stats. In that sense, she has more in common with backline damage dealers than other defenders of her rarity.
In PVE, Surya’s role as a utility damage dealer makes her very well suited to 16 man content (i.e. Raids, Guild Coop). She can also be used against some bosses in Danger Close, thanks to her Special and Ultimate skills allowing for massive burst. As a fury unit, Surya’s timings are greatly affected by the “ASPD decrease” debuff tag. Surya needs to be deployed early into the run to allow time for her ultimate to charge.
Surya has found her niche in PVP thanks to her immensely powerful Ultimate skill. Its massive range, true damage, and high hit count allows her to quite literally one-shot ships if she is in range. Surya’s special skill bounces between enemies 6 times. This property gives the Surya the potential to inflict massive damage against isolated targets (e.g. frontline tanks).
Surya’s PVP viability is heavily held back by her survivability issues. Her damage absorption passive almost always works to her detriment, putting her to dangerously low HP at which point any splash damage will be enough to kill her. That being said, Surya can be one of the strongest win conditions in the game if left unchecked.
- Massive teamwide ASPD buff.
- Extreme burst damage potential with special and ultimate skills.
- Buffs only work on counters.
- Would be a better unit without damage share mechanic.
