Review
Seo Jiwoo has amazing solo capabilities being able to stay on the field for a long time due to her skill resets. With her ability to break enemies and providing shields to the team, she is a top-tier unit that should always be considered for fights with bosses that can have their guard broken.
Amazing Hybrid DPS/Breaker.
Great survival in bot content.
Look at that skin.
Requires Weapon and Dupe Investment, otherwise just use Nam.
Average synergy with best Water Support.
Seo Jiwoo, the first Water SSR, has amazing solo capabilities and possible on-field time. She is an amazing option to use in many fire-type bosses with armor to break.
The most prominent part of her kit is her passive, with the ability to apply [Water Dragon Training]. Every time you use either of her basic skills, her core attack, or QTE Skill, it will apply one [Training] Stack. Once 3 [Training] stacks are on Seo, your basic skill cooldowns reset, you can use them again, and they turn into an upgraded version dealing more damage. With the low mana consumption, this allows her to be on-field for a while if need be.
We can’t talk about Seo without talking about her breaking capabilities. Most of her skills only apply weak break, but due to her passive allowing her skill cooldown to reset, this weak break will be able to apply multiple times on the enemy, building up the break over time quite well, while having good damage. Besides that, she does also have a shield that is applied on her transformed [Heavy Attack Water Dragon Rush], and her support skill. While being a 5% and 10% shield, it can still scale quite high as Seo is built off of HP, proving to be a good enough shield for any allies not built off HP.
She can slot into many teams quite well, to provide break damage and minimal support (which will be greatly amplified by the set Greed set, but more on that in the artifact section).
Seo Jiwoo’s advancements are fairly standard, primarily aimed at improving her DPS. Notable advancements include:
A2: Enhances her break capabilities, following the typical Breaker advancement path.
A4: Increases her Crit damage throughout fights, boosting both her HP and damage due to her health-scaling mechanics. This makes A4 a deceptively powerful advancement.
A5: Increases both the Crit Rate and the Skill damage of her Heavy Basic Skills, as well as her Ultimate. The Skill damage buff is fairly rare this early in SLA's lifespan, which makes it more interesting than most buffs.
Seo’s personal weapon, Unparalleled Bravery, is quite good as it can give up to 25% Crit Damage with no dupes. Long term duping it out may be quite grueling, but will result in potential 140% increase in Seo's Crit damage, making her a force to be reckoned with. In the Water element, Alicia's weapon still takes priority but the more you advance your Seo the better her weapon advancements will become, as her A4 and A5 greatly capitalize on her Crit damage. If you want to focus on the Water team, Seo's weapon will be put on a similar priority rank as most of the other elements' carry weapons so long as you also advance her accordingly.
The optimal artifact set for Seo Jiwoo is the 8-piece Burning Greed set. This set provides a [Greed] buff each time she deals Break damage, stacking up to 10 times. Each stack of [Greed] grants a 1% Crit Rate. Once fully stacked, it transforms into [Burning Greed], which increases Seo's and her team members' Crit Rate by 15% and Crit Damage by 30%. Additionally, pairing this set with Min Byung-Gu can further enhance critical damage when he uses his ultimate and applies his Crit Damage buff. The set also boosts her break effect by 30%, making it extremely valuable.
If you don't have an 8 piece Greed set yet, using Solid Analysis for the amor side is a good option. Worst case, you can use Toughness, also giving a pretty sizeable Crit increase. Try to at least have the 4 piece Greed set on the jewelry side, but it that is impossible too then the Executioner set and to a lesser extent the Berserker set are the only real viable options to give some more damage to your Seo. For a more supporting Seo with classic sets, the Outstanding connection set can see use if your main supporter already plays a set like Burning Blessing.
On the team building side, the mono Water team currently sports the highest damage potential in the game, leaving every other element in the dust.
The trio of Alicia, Seo and Meilin encompasses everything that a team would want: extreme damage from Alicia, high Break on top of very respectable personal dps from Seo, and a wide variety of high uptime buffs and heals from Meilin. To top it all off, both Alicia and Seo also bring their own powerful teamwide buffs thanks to Alicia's A1 and Seo's Greed set, bringing the Crit stats of your entire team (including Jinwoo) very close to 100% if not past 100% depending on your builds as long as your Total power deficit isn't crippling those stats.
Seo Jiwoo has been available on the standard banner since launch, making her a viable choice early in the game. She excels in Breaking and is particularly effective against bosses like Cerberus, especially if you don't have Alicia. While there's no way to guarantee her in the Custom Banner, selecting her as one of your options is a strategic move if you lack viable Water units.
With the accessibility of Alicia at this point, while Seo is a phenomenal unit, if you had to pick between the two, going for Alicia is the better option as Nam could replace a low advancement Seo very efficiently.
Seo Jiwoo is effective even at A0, but each of her dupes significantly enhances her kit. The most notable advancements are A2 and A5. Pushing for these dupes is not essential to make good use of Seo Jiwoo, but if you want to utilize her as a hybrid DPS, A5 is highly recommended.
For players seeking a Water Breaker, the Water SR Nam Chae-Young is already an excellent choice. Nam's pure breaking potential surpasses Seo's, and she only requires her A2 to be optimal. However, the comparison between the two ends there. A well-built and invested Seo Jiwoo offers much more to a team than Nam can, excelling in challenging, high-difficulty content. Nam, on the other hand, is perfect for speed-related challenges and progressing through the Story mode without pushing into very high power deficit territory.
Seo Jiwoo rating takes into account their performance in all matter of PVE content.

Seo Jiwoo can be equipped with the Burning Greed set that you can obtain from the Workshop of Brilliant Light. As a Breaker, Seo Jiwoo can make use of the set and in most cases, it will perform better than the normal sets (4 piece is minimum, but you want all 8).
Those are the stats you should focus on when building Seo Jiwoo. So search for them on your sub-stats as a priority.

For SSR characters, you always want to use their Signature/EX Weapon - they are simply the best for them. Until you obtain the signature weapon, just use the options listed below. The priority is set from left to right. Also, If you have a Signature/EX weapon for a Hunter that is not in your team you can consider using it for the raw stats alone - as long as it matches the character.
