Review
Isla is an amazing Dark Support that can quickly change the tide of the battle with her powerful buffs and supporting abilities. While she does require heavy investment, it's very well worth considering all she brings to the team.
Dark's long awaited actual support.
Mix of offensive and defensive utility.
Powerful and generic buffs outside of Dark.
Requires lots of investment.
While she can be used outside of Dark, she'll lose to dedicated support.
Released before the half Anniversary unit, so saving is advised.
Isla is an amazing Dark Support that can quickly change the tide of the battle with her powerful buffs and supporting abilities. While she does require heavy investment, it's very well worth considering all she brings to the team. She delivers a great mix of Defensive capabilities with powerful buffs, and we'll be glad to go in detail describing what makes her such a powerful unit.
Her Basic Attack is relatively normal, but the Stage 3 of her Basic Attack Sequence charges her power gauge by 100%, similar to Charlotte.
Her Core Attack, Horoscope, will deal damage in a circle and also apply one out of three Tarots effects for 12 seconds
[Strength] buffs the user's damage by 12%.
[The Magician] grants the whole team a Shield based on 12% of Isla's defense.
[Wheel of Fortune] buffs the whole team's Critical Rate/Damage by 12%.
While these feel a bit random at first, we'll come back to these buffs later in the review when discussing her advancements.
Her Skill 1, Cosmic emergence, activates [The Star] effect, leaving a debuff cleansing zone like Han Se-Mi while also healing HP of the whole team. Her Skill 2, Death Nova, applies [The Tower] effect, buffing Dark damage dealt by Dark team members by 5%.
Her Support Skill, Crossing Stars, will activate [The Star] effect, granting one of the 3 effects to Sung Jinwoo. Her QTE is pretty similar, as when it's activated it will apply one of the 3 buffs to the rest of the team, making it easier to get the buffs out and reapply them as needed.
Last but not least, her Ultimate 'Arcana: The World/Arcana: Death' will activate a different effect depending on what buffs she currently has:
[The World] will instantly recover the team's HP by 15% of her Defense while also granting a Shield to the party for 8 seconds.
[Death] will improve the team's Damage Increase stat based on Isla's own and also buff the Ultimate damage of Dark Hunters by 12% for 16 seconds.
You can change the version of the skill using [Death Nova] (turning the Ult into ‘Arcana: Death’) or [Cosmic Emergence] (to turn it into ‘Arcana: The World’) allowing you to play Isla in a very reactive way. This makes her a very powerful character even at A0, but her dupes increase her capabilities significantly.
At A1, she will charge the Power Gauge of the second character in the team by 60% while decreasing their Ultimate cool down by 20 seconds. It also improves [The Tower] effect by increasing the Dark damage to 10%.
At A2, she increases the team Speed by 10%, makes them immune to [Slow] and buffs their defense by 5%.
A3 is the big power spike for Isla, activating ALL 3 of her buffs when using Horoscope, her Core Attack. This basically removes all the RNG from her kit, making her a super powerful buffer with almost no downside.
At A4, She provides 3% Damage Increase/Reduction to the team for every Dark Hunter in the team.
At A5, She improves the effect of [Death] and [The World]:
[Death] will now improve the Damage Increase buff up to 12% of Isla's own, while also buffing the Ultimate skill damage by 32%. It will also grant the [Death Shepherd] buff, granting 0.2% additional damage for every missing 1% HP, stacking up to 16%.
[The World] improves the HP recovery and Shield to 25% of Isla's Defense.
Isla's weapon, Unexpected Luck, is an incredible weapon, increasing the whole team's Defense based on how many Dark units you have in the team while also decreasing Isla's Ultimate skill cooldown.
A must have weapon that really benefits from being A5, as Isla's Ultimate is crucial in controlling the battle, while also offering a powerful Defense buff for Charlotte.
Isla is a Support, making the Burning Blessing Set, her primary option. You can also use the Guardian Set or Angel in White on the left side and Sylph's blessing on the right side, depending on the content.
It goes without saying, Isla makes a perfect addition to Charlotte and Harper, making it the premier Dark team due to the Defense focus, combination of buff/debuffs related to Ultimate skill usage and overall an amazing synergy. However, SM Baek is also another powerful Dark attacker that can benefit from all the buffs provided by Isla, even if you need to be careful with the healing so that you can stay in the correct HP threshold to maximize Baek's damage.
That being said, Isla is very generic and can be virtually slotted in any team as a support, as her offensive buffs are second only to Meilin and they are very close to each other, while being less restricted. For guild boss, you can actually pair Isla with Meilin and Gunhee in Team A and run an offensive Sung Jinwoo build by allowing Meilin to spam her Ultimate, making her an invaluable asset for this team mode.
Long story short, yes, but with a catch.
She's an amazing unit that will improve your account significantly and has already shown her worth in this past week, and doubles up as a great support.
However, Thomas Andre is just around the corner - if you are a F2P player or Low Spender, we sincerely advise to maybe wait and see his kit before rolling, so you can pick the unit that would benefit your account the most. Also, after securing Andre and potential dupes you can revisit Isla's banner, as it lasts for quite a while.
For F2P: If you are rolling for Isla, A0 or A1 are solid starting points to start building her up. Her weapon investment is super good and should be brought to A5 for best returns
For Dolphins: A3 is the ideal stopping point, as you remove the RNG factor from Isla's kit and turn her into an amazing all around support.
For Whales: A5 all the way. Lots of extra damage buffs and also an increase for Isla's defensive capabilities, this is VERY useful for auto battle or guild wars.
Isla Wright rating takes into account their performance in all matter of PVE content.

For SSR characters, you always want to use their Signature/EX Weapon - they are simply the best for them. Until you obtain the signature weapon, just use the options listed below. The priority is set from left to right. Also, If you have a Signature/EX weapon for a Hunter that is not in your team you can consider using it for the raw stats alone - as long as it matches the character.
