Review

Overview

Harper is a powerful Dark Hunter excelling in two things: Breaking the Bosses and upsetting the community for how good she. Thanks to her weapon, she can also be a powerful support, making her an invaluable addition to every Dark team.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Almighty Breaker with good damage.

  • Works well without Charlotte.

  • Powerful Support unit.

Cons

  • Character doesn't really fit the SLA universe.

  • Expensive unit with currently little content to shine in.

  • the FBI agent checking your game is gonna be disappointed if you roll.

Review

After being the talk of the playerbase for a while, Harper and Charlotte have joined the SLA roster. While they feel out of place in Solo Leveling Universe, they’ll fit nicely in your roster. Let’s learn how they function and what they bring to the table!

Harper functions as Breaker in the duo, capable of quickly melting Break Bars while dealing good damage and supporting the rest of Dark team.

First, Let us take a look at her various skills, her Basic Attack inflicts Weak Break and her Core Attack inflicts enemies with ‘Paralyze’ for three seconds, making it a great tool for disruption.

Moving on to her Basic Skills - ‘Hammer Drift’ causes her to charge at the enemy inflicting [Knock Down] with the first hit and [Airborne] with the last hit, making it very useful when dealing with enemy waves. With her second Basic Skill - ‘The Tenderizer’, she smashes her hammer on the unfortunate target of her affection dealing Almighty Break damage and stacking counts of ‘Porkchopped’ debuff on the enemy, which increases the Ultimate skill damage taken from Dark Hunters by 1%. Note: This is a Hold Skill, thus it will continue dealing Follow-Up Attacks as long as you press the button.

Her QTE Skill, deals more Break damage and inflicts ‘Paralyze’ on target. Her Ultimate on other hand deals good damage. Lastly, her Support Ability also deals medium Break damage and inflicts ‘Paralyze’ on target, while it's nothing game breaking, it can be helpful depending on the fight.

Advancements

When it comes to Advancements, it is important to note that both Charlotte and Harper are expensive units to raise. While they can and will function at lower Advancement levels, they gain significantly with them. Guess they are still in their growth phase?!

  • A0 - Harper gains a stackable 5% Critical Rate and Critical Damage boost when using ‘Hammer Drift’, which grants her ‘London Drift’ for 10 seconds,  increasing her damage by 20%.

  • A1 - Harper not only gains a shield equivalent to 50% of her Max HP when using ‘The Tenderizer’  but also increases the skill damage and hit count.

  • A2  - Grants her extra Break effectiveness allowing for faster Break bar shredding.

  • A3 - The major checkpoint for Harper when it comes to her personal damage. This allows her to automatically attack enemies within 5m of her when using ‘Hammer Drift’ and increasing ‘London Drift’ effects to 60% damage increase for 15 seconds. And that's not all, as she changes her Ultimate to Harper & Charlotte Mjolnir, granting it 70% additional damage! That’s a lot of damage alright!

  • A4 - Just a simple teamwide 8% HP and Defense buff, but helpful as Harper scales off HP and Charlotte off Defense.

  • A5 - Improves her ‘Porkchopped’ debuff, increasing Ultimate damage increase to 2% per stack for a maximum of 16 stacks lasting for 30 seconds. Furthermore, her ‘Super Magic Booster’ is changed to ‘Twin Super Magic Booster’ raising Critical Rate and Critical Damage to 6% per stack for a total of 7 stacks instead of 4.

Weapon & Gear

Her weapon, Mischievous, increases her HP by 4~12% and grants teamwide Dark Damage increase by 4~12% for 30 seconds following her Ultimate use. This makes her an even better support as she increases not just team’s Ultimate damage, but also overall damage as well. While she doesn’t rely on her Ultimate much, we will see why this buff is super important in Charlotte’s Review.

Gear Wise, she prefers 8x Burning Greed Set with a mix of HP, Critical Rate and Critical Damage sub-stats. As an alternative, you can run a mix of 4x Burning Curse + 4x Burning Greed for more damage, or 4x Burning Greed / Solid Foundation + 4x Sylph Blessing to increase her function as Support/Breaker.

Team Composition and Synergy

To the surprise of no one, She works perfectly with Charlotte, whereas your third option can be Lee Bora (currently a perfect fit as another Debuffer/Sub DPS) or Silver Mane Baek (as main DPS). Personally our pick would be Lee Bora, as her investment will also pay off in Guild Fights.

Despite that, keep in mind that the Twins have a teacher, and the Dark team is currently lacking a dedicated Healer/Support - making it highly possible the next Dark character would fill that link. As such, invest in Lee Bora with care, though we will reiterate that her Weapon is an amazing asset for Guild Boss, so might be worth it overall.

Should you pull?

The honest answer would be Yes, unfortunately while Lim is a good Breaker, he just falls far too short compared to Harper’s Breaking capabilities, not to mention her skillset as Support. She is very strong even without Charlotte and will be likely to see use in upcoming content such as higher floors of Workshop of Brilliant Light.

Another factor to consider is that we will not be having any other banner in September outside of Twins, and the next character based on lobby would be Gina, as such you can wait until we get closer to end of Twins banners to see if any new information about future Units elements and content is shared, as we expect Half Year Anniversary to start in Early November. And if you are F2P and currently tackling lower stages of Workshop of Brilliant Light, it’s worth noting that you will need time to reach minimum power requirement for new content when it drops, giving you another reason to save your draw tickets and wait for Twins to be added to Custom Draw Banner - as even if you do build them, you might be unable to tackle the new content immediately, making the investment seem less useful.

Investment
  • F2P - At Least aim for A1 Harper, but for reasons outlined above, we strongly suggest investing in A3 for both Harper and Charlotte should you decide to build them.

  • Dolphins - A3 is required to get the best out of Harper. She also shares a Board Event with her Release Banner, allowing you to get weapon fragments for free for extra return.

  • Whales - A5 without a doubt, significant damage gains, increased Dark Ultimate damage thanks to buffed ‘Porkchopped’ increasing the duo’s damage a lot!

Best Weapons

For SSR characters, you always want to use their Signature/EX Weapon - they are simply the best for them. Until you obtain the signature weapon, just use the options listed below. The priority is set from left to right. Also, If you have a Signature/EX weapon for a Hunter that is not in your team you can consider using it for the raw stats alone - as long as it matches the character.
