Overview

Gina is the most recent addition to the Fire roster. A Jack of all Trades whose value could be quite difficult to evaluate, with an undeniable perk: her paid costume.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Paid costume is stunning.

  • Powerful all around support for the Fire team.

  • Good guild boss option.

Cons

  • Fire team is ultimately not a priority right now.

  • Jack of all Trades but master of none.

  • Released together with Anna Ruiz personal weapon, an amazing Guild Boss filler that could decrease her value for most.

Review

Gina is a Fire mage with a similar role to Lee Bora - A bit of damage and a lot of support.

Her Basic Attack, Firestorm applies [Airborne] effect after Basic Attack combo completion, her Core Attack, Forced Descent applies [Knock Down] enemies instead. It also applies a stack of [Countercurrent] - more on that later!

Her first skill, Gravitational Mass, inflicts damage in a straight line while also sending the enemies [Airborne]. Using this skill will also apply one stack of [Countercurrent]. Her second skill can be held down to fire a continuous Fire beam at the enemy, stacking up to 4 [Countercurrent] stacks. (Kamehameha much?). Lastly, her QTE simply deals some Fire damage to the enemy, while her Ultimate, Liberation sends them [Airborne] and triggers a [Gravitation Field].

Let us look at her special effects - The [Gravitation Field] is a powerful Control skill that lingers dealing 20% of the damage from her Ultimate, while also inflicting [Halt] on the enemy for 3 seconds. When using Gina as support, she will use Concentrated Gravity, dropping the [Gravitation Field] while also applying the [Body Retrograde] buff to Sung Jinwoo, healing him for 2% every 3 seconds based on Gina's ATK. It also restores the Power Gauges of the team members by 2% every 3 seconds.

Now the [Countercurrent] effect - it is part of Gina’s Passive and can be stacked up  to 5 times. When Gina uses her Core Attack, Skill 1 and Skill 2, she will stack one - or more - stacks of [Countercurrent] on the enemy and when it reaches 5 stacks it grants Gina and her teammates the [Mana Circulation] buff. Also, after dropping a [Gravity Field] she applies the [Body Retrograde] effect to her team members.

[Mana Circulation] gives 15% increased Attack and increases the Fire damage dealt by 15%. When Gina grants this buff, it removes the [Countercurrent] stacks from the enemy, whereas,  [Body Retrograde] heals the party by 2% of Gina's Attack every 3 seconds and grants 2% Power every 3 seconds.

Advancement:
  • A1: Upon applying [Mana Circulation] she also applies [Mana Transformation] to the team. This buff grants a [Shield] equal to 12% of Gina's Attack, while also increasing the damage dealt by 12% and decreasing the damage taken by 12% for 20 seconds.

  • A2: Shield value increases to 20% and when a [Shield] is granted to a team member they also gain a 10% additional damage dealt increase. This is not necessarily triggered by Gina herself, for Guild Boss purposes.

  • A3: Her Skill 1 also creates a [Gravitational Field]. When enemies are hit by this skill, they are inflicted with the [Gravity Boost] debuff that increases the Fire damage taken by 10% for 20 seconds.

  • A4: Gina increases the Defense Penetration of the team by 4% - with an additional 4% for Fire allies.

  • A5: Upon creating a [Gravitational Field, activate [Space-Time Gap] effect on the enemy, increasing the damage of her Skill 2.

Weapon

Gina's Weapon, The Glamour of Self-worth, increases Gina's Attack and grants Mana to her team members when she applies the [Mana Circulation] buff. Activating [Mana Circulation] also buffs both the Attack and the Fire damage of team members by 1%, stacking from 4 up to 10 times based on the weapon’s advancement.

A simple but powerful weapon that helps Gina support her allies. The important part is the Mana Regeneration tied to [Mana Circulation] and the stacking Attack buff. Whereas Fire allies will benefit the most from this, it makes Gina a powerful support in Guild Bosses overall.

Gear and Artifacts:

Gina is in theory a Support DPS, meaning you can either build her as a full Support with the 8 piece Burning Blessing set or use her as a DPS with 8 piece Burning Curse or 4x Burning Curse + 4x Expert set.

If you are running Gina in the Guild Boss you can run her with the Guardian set and the Sylph set. You can potentially also run her with an Expert set given she can deal some damage, but it depends on your advancement and team structure.

Team suggestions:

Being a Fire support, Gina shines the most in a Fire team with Emma Laurent and Yoo Soohyun/Choi Jong-in, depending on the content, with Yoo particularly  benefiting a lot from the increase in damage. However, currently the fire team is in a tough spot given it lacks dedicated content to be run in, excluding BoT and PoD.

Until we get other PvE content for Gina, as of now she's relegated to the role of Guild Boss supporter, where hunters like Alicia and Mirei will be happy to have her on the team to alleviate some of their MP issues.

Should you roll for Gina?

As of now, it's a bit hard to suggest rolling for Gina. While she is a great addition to the Fire team, as mentioned in the team section the Fire team is currently lacking a fitting playground, much like when Yoo was released months ago.

Considering she came after twins and before Isla and Andre, Gina is unfortunately in the middle of banners that hold a higher priority: Isla's release is probably going to be close to the Hard mode of the upper Floors of WOBL and could be very useful to tackle this new difficulty and Andre has to be one of the most hyped units so far.

If you have the resources and want to roll for Gina now, you might have to wait a bit before seeing returns: however, if you are invested in Guild Boss she might open some flexible team building options.

Investment
  • F2P: One copy is enough to strengthen your Fire team.

  • Dolphin: A2 if you plan to only use Gina in Guild Boss, A3 if you plan to invest a bit more in your Fire team for the additional Fire damage increase on the enemy.

  • Whales: A4 is realistically where Gina's Support power peaks, as A5 is a DPS increase for her. Still, considering you most likely want to get her Weapon to A5, rolling during her release event will get you closer to that goal, so it wouldn't be a terrible idea to finish going to A5, as it improves her DPS in Guild Boss.

Best Weapons

For SSR characters, you always want to use their Signature/EX Weapon - they are simply the best for them. Until you obtain the signature weapon, just use the options listed below. The priority is set from left to right. Also, If you have a Signature/EX weapon for a Hunter that is not in your team you can consider using it for the raw stats alone - as long as it matches the character.
