The Middle Little Brother Sinclair is the long awaited sequel to the controversial Middle Little Sister Don. For clarification, he does not fix any of the problems Middle Don has, but he does benefit from having Middle Don on his team. Similar to Middle Don, most of Sinclair's damage comes out of his Counters. At 4 + Sum of Envy Absolute Resonance his S2 turns into a Counter Skill and similarly at 6 + Sum, his S3 does the same.

Middle Sinclair’s main gimmick revolves around getting as many Envy A-Res as you possibly can, and his team building revolves around having other sinners who have an abundance of Envy skills. However, he also has unique debuffs and buffs that puts him above Middle Don by default. The debuff is called “Vendetta Mark” which is inflicted through Middle Sinclair’s passive when an enemy hits either him or any of his allies. 5 stacks of “Vendetta Mark” gets inflicted once per turn when an enemy hits him, and when an ally is hit by an enemy, the enemy will be inflicted with 2 stacks of “Vendetta Mark” once per turn. If said ally is from the Middle faction, the passive will instead inflict 5 stacks of “Vendetta Mark”.

“Vendetta Mark” is consumed by certain Skills or Passive to enhance them and in Sinclair’s case, he consumes all “Vendetta Mark” stacks on the target after attacking it with any of his Skills, and gains an equal amount of Book of Vengeance [Sinclair] in return, which we will cover in the next paragraph.  Aside from that, the enemies inflicted with “Vendetta Mark” will take +2% more damage from any Middle Identity for every Stack, capping out at 20%. Finally, at the end of the turn, the unit with the highest Stack of “Vendetta Mark” will gain 1 Sibling Vengeance Mark, which works similarly to the Vengeance Mark that Middle Don and Middle Meursault inflict, effectively functioning as a second Vengeance Mark on the field.

As for Book of Vengeance [Sinclair], it is Middle Sinclair’s unique buff and can be stacked up to 30 times. It is gained by consuming “Vendetta Marks” by simply just attacking the target after they’re inflicted with it. Considering how easy it is to inflict “Vendetta Mark” and subsequently consume it due to the counter focused nature of Middle IDs, Middle Sinclair has a pretty fast ramp up (3-6 turns).

Book of Vengeance [Sinclair] gains 1 new effect for every 10 stacks:

  • At 10+ Stack: gain 1 Blunt DMG Up

  • At 20+ Stack: Max Speed +1 and gain 1 Power Up

  • At 30+ Stack: gain 2 Blunt DMG Up

With all of this being said, we will go over Sinclair’s skills:

  • Skill 1 - Is it You?! - 2 Coin Skill - Base Roll 11, Max Roll 14 - Nothing too special other than SP heal.

  • Skill 2 - Payback with Interest - 3 Coin Skill - Base Roll 16, Max Roll 20 - Requires 6 Resonance to get the maximum amount of Offense Level from this skill, and if said Resonance was Absolute Resonance, you get double the Offense Level from the above effect. Also not much to say other than it's a statstick Skill.

  • Skill 3 - Write ‘em all down - 3 Coin Skill - Base Roll 17, Max Roll 24 - His bread and Butter. Just like Skill 2, it also requires 6 Resonance to get the maximum effect or an Absolute Resonance. Other than that this skill has the potential to deal a lot of damage with his ludicrous amount of damage modifier.

  • Counter - Warmup in the East - 2 Coin Skill - Base Roll 13 - Gives him a safety net in the form of shield while also allowing easy access to Skill 2 and Skill 3 based on Envy Absolute Resonance

While it’s by all means not very broken or enough to significantly stand out, Middle Sinclair is a surprisingly fun and welcome addition to your Envy Team, and can possibly get better as time goes on when you can better build around his Coin Power conditionals which requires at least 6-12 Bleed Potency on the target by the time it’s his turn to attack, which is tricky to achieve with the current units we have now.

Notable Team/ID Synergy
  • The Middle Little Sister Don Quixote: It's fairly obvious that Middle Sinclair has very good synergy with Middle Don, while he does fundamentally nothing to buff her, just her playstyle and having her on field helps him gain Book of Vengeance [Sinclair] more quickly. Also the fact that his Envy Resonance gimmick is the same as Don as well pretty much ensures that she stays at top performance (even though it’s dubious at best.)

  • The Middle Little Brother Meursault: It’s not recommended, but Meursault does help in letting Middle Sinclair gain more Book of Vengeance [Sinclair] quickly, alongside providing not only buffs with his Skill 2 and passives but also debuffs with his S3 that is great for Middle Sinclair. Just don’t expect Meursault to do much.

  • The Pequod Harpooneer Heathcliff: While Heathcliff doesn’t help Middle Sinclair gain “Vendetta Mark” stacks more quickly (as he doesn’t count as a Middle ID), Heathcliff’s skills directly synergize with his S3 becoming more powerful at Envy A-Reson and with the counter playstyle of the Middle ID’s, he can gain a good amount of Offense Level and Defense Level with his passive. Furthermore, he’s a very helpful unit if you want to maintain Bleed on enemies, given the right team.

Notable E.G.O Synergy
  • Cavernous Wailing: Helps both Middle Don and Middle Sinclair and any other counter focused IDs you have on your team be more tankier for countering.

  • Hex Nail: Gains Attack Weight from Envy Resonance and inflicts Nails which helps maintain Bleed a little better.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Can gain the maximum amount of Book of Vengeance [Sinclair] at a decently fast rate.

  • Great damage and clashing.

  • Shield from the Counter Skill makes counter gaming safe.

  • Great potential to be amazing…

Cons

  • … but lacks proper teammates to enable that.

  • Counter gaming isn’t very reliable.

  • 6+ Envy A-Res is hard to reliably maintain in a Focused Encounter.

  • While it isn’t impossible, specific team building (or just Sanguine Desire Rodion) is necessary if you want to take advantage of the Coin Power conditionals.
