Review
[Lobotomy E.G.O:: Red Eyes & Penitence] Ryoshu, or simply "Red Eyes Ryoshu," is a Charge ID with a lot of utility in her kit. Let's explore her skills first - but keep in mind that her Skill 3 possesses an enhanced variant (we’ll refer to it as Skill 3-1 for clarity in the review). Before we look at her skills, lets go over her mechanics first!
Her unique charges, “Penitence” and “Red Eyes,” do not expire over time. Instead of gaining Charge Count, her passive randomly converts them into either “Penitence” or “Red Eyes”. If her second passive is active, she gains an additional charge of “Red Eyes” for each hit against an enemy with Bleed status. Do note that her own Bleed is on the later part of Coin, preventing her from gaining any extra Charge from it.
For “Penitence”, charges can be gained via two methods: Hitting an enemy while having 20+ SP, or receiving a hit from an enemy. Each Charge can boost her damage up to 20% (10% for each max Charge) and another 20% (10% for each max Charge) with conditions. The condition for “Penitence” is hitting an enemy with a lower SP count (for targets without SP: their SP counts as 0) and for “Red Eyes” it is hitting a target that is slower than Red Eyes Ryoshu by 3.
Additionally, these charges offer auxiliary effects based on the amount of Charge Ryoshu has accumulated, which is split into three Stages. Stage 1 (1~7), Stage 2 (8~15), and Stage 3 (16~20). Each stage of “Red Eyes” giving her an additional Bleed Potency based on the stage (for a total of up to 3 additional Bleed Potency) – an extremely welcome addition for Bleed teams as they normally don’t apply much Potency. While “Penitence” gives her Shield at the start of each turn based on the amount of “Penitence” she has (for up to maximum of 20% HP), it also heals Ryoshu by Stage Number x 2 SP (therefore up to 6 SP total) per hit with skills that gain “Penitence”. However, due to her Skill 3-1 consuming all these Charges, she will lose all of the benefits mentioned above.
With her Mechanics out of the way, we finally get to her skills:
Skill 1: Both of You, Shut Up – 2 Coin Skill, Base Roll – 12, Conditionals Met – 16. Grants Ryoshu up to 5 “Penitence” and 3 “Red Eyes” Charges.
Skill 2: S.H. / S.F. – 3 Coin Skill, Base Roll – 16, Conditionals Met – 22. Grants Ryoshu up to 5 “Penitence” and 8 “Red Eyes” Charges and up to 2 Haste.
Skill 3: Skullbuster - 3 Coin Skill, Base Roll – 17, Conditionals Met – 25. Grants Ryoshu up to 11 “Penitence” and 8 “Red Eyes” Charges. But that’s not all, Ryoshu heals herself and an ally in both HP and SP, based on the number of “Penitence” she has, restoring up to 10% of max HP and 10 SP. It is usually better to save up this skill for the enhanced version but it can be used to generate her unique “Charge”
Skill 3-1: Serious Skullbuster –This enhanced skill activates when both “Red Eyes” and “Penitence” reach 15+ Charges. 3 Coin Skill, Base Roll – 29 (15 Charges), Conditionals Met – 33 (20 Charges). This skill’s power lies in that it consumes all of her “Penitence” and “Red Eyes” Charges in exchange for a +4% Damage multiplier for every Charge consumed which is at bare minimum is 120% (15x2 Charges) and can go up to 160% (20x2 Charges) on its 3rd Coin.
Additionally, Ryoshu also heals HP based on “Penitence” Charges consumed, thus at least 15% to up to 20% of max HP for allies with lowest HP, and heal at least 10 SP to up to 15 for herself and her allies with lowest SP (with each additional ally for every 2 of the highest Resonance in the Skill Chain for a max of 2 additional allies).
Her 3rd Coin also inflicts 3 Bind, 2 Attack Power down crippling anyone hit with this skill. But as with all good things, there are some drawbacks – following this attack, she loses 15 SP and gains a status called “Only Ashes Remain” which prevents her from gaining both “Penitence” and “Red Eyes” Charge for one turn resulting in a DPS loss in exchange for both HP and SP heal.
Counter: Mealtime, Bedtime – 2 Coin Skill, Base Roll - 13, Grants Ryoshu up to 3 “Penitence” and 4 “Red Eyes” Charges + the amount of time’s she is hit (up to 3). This counter-skill has more potential to generate Charges when she is at low Charge Count compared to Skill 1 in exchange for being hit and dealing less damage.
Overall, Red Eyes Ryoshu is a strong and versatile ID, offering tremendous value by dealing damage, providing heals and being generally tanky. She excels in Bleed or Charge-oriented teams, as these facilitate easier charge gains. (Bleed due to her Bleed application being on later part of coin, thereby not granting her additional charge from her passive).
Notable E.G.O Synergies
Red Eyes: The Bind inflicted by this EGO can allow her to activate “Red Eyes” damage conditionals more easily.
4th Match Flame: Up to 9 Attack Power Up on Corrosion is never going to be a bad choice, especially when the downside of gaining up to 30 Burn Potency is mitigated with self-healing and Shields. On top of that, the passive can also greatly boost the damage output, especially if timed with S3-1.
Contempt, Awe - From the downtime she has after using her S3-1, you won’t really need to worry about Contempt of the Gaze and it’ll instead further help her with tanking. Additionally, if you get Contempt of the Gaze outside of her downtime, her passive can cancel out part of the Damage Down gained from it.

Amazing self-sustain from passive and S3-1 has really good teamwide sustain.
Very good in both short fights and long fights due to her being able to gain SP very quickly in short fights and being able to ramp up damage for longer fights.
It may take some time before you can use her Enhanced Skill 3.
“Only Ashes Remains” forces a single turn of downtime.
She loses all of the benefits gained from the Passive and Skills after using enhanced Skill 3.
