Review
The Rupture of FangHunt Hong Lu, the kit of Devyat Rodion, and the Blunt of The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair, all of this to create the perfect 00 ID in disguise. Now you may be wondering why? It is because of his Rupture application being paired with conditionals that not only stop inflicting Rupture but continue its consumption. Adding on to the woes, with no Damage% buffs from Courier Trunk - Sinclair (which Devyat Rodion has access to) makes him barely better or even worse than The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair in some cases. And if that wasn’t enough already, he also has the Devyat timer mechanic.
Well, that's enough ranting, now let’s move on to his unique mechanic. Devyat Sinclair gains 3 Stacks of Courier Trunk - Sinclair at every turn start, up to 2 on Skill 1 and up to 3 on Skill 2. This gives him various effects based on stack count:
10+ Stacks - Increases his minimum and maximum Speed by 1.
20+ Stacks - Grants 1 each of Clash Power Up and Blunt Damage Up.
30+ Stacks - Loses HP and SP after Skill Use and at Turn End.
Accordingly, it can be concluded that Devyat Sinclair will start taking damage the longer the fight goes on, which usually happens around turn 7-9. In this situation, it is better to let him retreat and give his slot to the 1st deployed Sinner rather than him dying and hogging up a slot.
Now let’s move on to his skills.
Skill 1, Courier Trunk - Decay Hammer - 2 Coin skill, Base roll - 11, Conditionals met - 15. Gain up to 2 Courier Trunk - Sinclair and inflict up to 3 Rupture Count. If the target has 15+ Rupture and 3+ Rupture Count, this Skill does not inflict Rupture Count with its On Hit effects; instead, it inflicts 2 Defense Level Down (once per Coin).
Skill 2, Courier Trunk - Demolition Gadget - 3 Coin skill, Base roll - 16, Conditionals met - 22. At less than 30 Courier Trunk - Sinclair, gain 1 Haste next turn (once per turn). Gain up to 3 Courier Trunk - Sinclair and inflict up to 5 Rupture Potency and 4 Count. If the target has 15+ Rupture and 3+ Rupture Count, this Skill does not inflict Rupture Count with its On Hit effects; instead, it inflicts 2 Defense Level Down (once per Coin).
Skill 3, Poludnitsa… I trust you! - 3 Coin skill, Base roll - 17, Conditionals met - 27. If the target has 15+ Rupture, deal +4% more damage for every Courier Trunk - Sinclair (max 120%). Inflicts up to 4 Rupture Potency and 2 Counts. If the target has 15+ Rupture and 3+ Rupture Count, this Skill does not inflict Rupture or Rupture Count with its On Hit effects; instead, the final Coin gains +4 Coin Power. While it can deal a lot of damage, you’ll most likely get this off once due to his timer mechanic and Rupture requirements.
Counters - he possesses 2 Normal Counters which function as the way for him to retreat from the fight. First Counter, Courier Assistance & Crisis Control System - Grants him Shield based on (Courier Trunk - Sinclair)% of max HP (up to 25%, once per turn) on use. At 15+ Courier Trunk - Sinclair, it changes to Second Counter, W-wait, I need to do some maintenance...! activating a “Strategic R&R Mode” effect to retreat from the fight. More about this effect in the “Advanced Combat Guide”
In conclusion, Devyat Sinclair is nothing more than a generic copy-paste of Devyat Rodion except being worse in every aspect bar having different damage type. Unlike Devyat Rodion he still consumes Rupture count with Conditionals and once again unlike her, he does not have any damage buffs from having more Courier Trunk making him not much better than his competitor which is The One Who Shall Grip Sinclair. While Defense Level Down per Coin is nice it requires too much Rupture and does not benefit much in Rupture teams where they would focus on dealing true damage.
