Cinq Association West Meursault or Cinq Meursault for short is a mixed bag of an ID having both Poise and Rupture. Like other Cinq IDs, his kit mainly focuses on having high Speed.

Before we go over his Skills, let’s first get his unique mechanic out of the way. His Passive, if active, allows him to gain Haste for every 3 Poise Potency for a max of 2. During Focused Encounter (fights where you manually target your skills), every time he hits something with a Skill, he inflicts a status called  “Focused Attack - Meursault” which can only be triggered once per skill. This status can massively improve his numbers depending on the stack count, with each skill hit on the same target slot increasing the stack count by one for a maximum of 3. The benefits he gains from “Focused Attack - Meursault” stacks are as follows:

  • 1x Stack: Gain Clash Power +1

  • 2x Stack: Gain Base Power +1

  • 3x Stack: Gain Base Power +1 and Coin Power +1

On top of that, he heals 7 Sanity if he does part-break or kills an enemy that has  “Focused Attack - Meursault” inflicted on it. All of this sounds good if not for the fact that there are a lot of issues with it. For starters, this status can be ONLY inflicted in Focused Encounter meaning outside of that he only has the Haste part of his Passive. Next, this status will expire if Cinq Meursault fails to hit the target slot in one turn or when he changes target slot - so to maintain it he needs to lock on a single enemy slot specifically to not reset the number of stacks. This means if said slot uses a really hard attack to Clash with or a high-rolling evade, he will lose on so much value as his kit leans more into Clashing.

That’s enough of his unique mechanics, now let us move on to his skills:

  • Skill 1 - Allez - 2 Coin skill, Base roll - 11, Conditionals met - 15, with Focused Attack - 18. Gains up to 3 Poise Count and inflicts up to 4 Rupture Potency. This skill neither consumes nor generates Rupture Count if the target has 15+ Rupture Potency and 3+ Rupture Count.

  • Skill 2 - Fente - 3 Coin skill, Base roll - 16, Conditionals met - 19, with Focused Attack - 23. Gains up to 2 Poise Potency and 4 Poise Count while also inflicting up to 4 Rupture Potency and 2 Rupture Count. This skill neither consumes nor generates Rupture Count if the target has 15+ Rupture Potency and 3+ Rupture Count. In exchange, on the third Coin, he deals an additional +5% damage on a Critical Hit for every Rupture Potency and Count he would have inflicted.

  • Skill 3 - Salut - 3 Coin skill,  Base roll - 17, Conditionals met - 26, with Focused Attack - 30. Gains up to 10 Poise Potency. This skill neither consumes nor generates Rupture Count if the target has 15+ Rupture Potency and 3+ Rupture Count. On the third Coin, he can gain up to +80% damage and up to +60% additional damage on a Critical Hit. On top of that if this skill does part-break or defeats an enemy it will be reused on a random enemy, although without as many damage multipliers.

In conclusion, Cinq Meursault is a great general ID. While he barely has any Rupture application, he can benefit greatly from it. Despite that, he is self-sufficient due to Cinq Association ID’s focus on Speed and Clash-oriented kit. The only problem with him is that half of his kit is locked behind “Focused Attack” and without it he is missing out on a lot.

E.G.O Synergy

Regret - More Coin Power to make up for not having 3 stacks of “Focused Attack - Meursault”

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Flexible.

  • Great damage potential with high skill power.

Cons

  • “Focused Attack” forces Cinq Meursault to only target a single slot to get the maximum benefits.

  • His extra Coin Power is locked behind “Focused Attack”.

  • ”Focused Attack” only works in Focused Encounter.
