Review

We have reworked our tier list owing to multiple meta shifts and how we rate characters. As such some of the reviews (especially of older characters) might not match the tier list ratings. Please prioritize the ratings given over provided Review. We will be working on updating all reviews, but it is a time-consuming endeavor.

The strongest single target DPS in the entire game given the right team, Violette is the reason why DOT comps work, enabling it to be one of the best comps for current boss stages.

This largely lies with her M1 and ult, which both scales off of how many DOT effects are cast on the target. Currently, we have up to 6 different DOT that can be applied according to in-game mechanics, and when the day comes when we can stack all 6 DOT at the same time with good uptime, Violette’s M1 and ult will deal up to 1120% DMG.

Furthermore, her S3 can increase her own ATK by up to a further 100% at 50 stacks, making her that much stronger for extended single target contents like boss stages. Her artifact is a very straightforward crit and crit dmg buff just to push her DPS a bit higher.

As great as she is in a DOT comp, her kit suffers when the DOT is unable to be stacked onto a single target, either because of multiple enemies, cleanse, or simply not enough uptime.

As a result, her use is rather limited in the main story stages where you are against a group of 5, often with healers that offer cleanses as well. She also falls victim to other backline’s weaknesses of being squishy, hence you need to be wary of enemy assassins and Adrienne hooks.

Single Bosses

Violette is one of the best DPS units in a DOT comp, even higher than Haru and Vivi assuming the comps are at a similar level. You will not regret building her, but in the meantime, you could easily loan a whale’s Violette to achieve similar results for boss stages.

PVP

Violette is rarely seen since undead comps are not common, and DOT teams are really weak against multiple enemy units since the debuffs applied are likely not focused on a single unit.
