Larimar, the equivalent of Anubis in Eversoul, is the fourth Demon Soul released in the game. She is an INT Caster who primarily relies on various debuffs in her skillset to work. Let's take a look at her skills first:
Ultimate - Scales of Judgement: This is purely a damage skill with the unique ability to adjust damage multipliers according to the number of enemies, making it effective in both single-target and AoE situations.
Main - Weight of Judgement: A line attack that stuns all enemies it hits, dealing bonus damage to those affected by her Subskill's effect "Sentence of the End".
Sub 1 - Sentence: Sentence: Larimar's bread and butter for raids, this allows her to land a Curse DoT on the enemy with the highest attack that deals 80% attack damage every 2 seconds for 10 seconds (for a total of 400%). It also marks the enemy with "Sentence of the End", causing them to take damage equal to 30% of all damage received by the target during the 10 seconds it is applied as additional damage. This alone is what makes Larimar so amazingly powerful in raid teams. In PvE situations, if the target marked by "Sentence of the End" is killed, the debuff is inflicted on the entire enemy team, dealing an additional 140% attack damage.
Sub 2 - Watchful Eyes: Similar to Eileen's buff steal but for debuffs, Larimar marks the highest attack enemy as "Watched." If not cleansed, Larimar duplicates the target's debuffs onto the entire enemy team. For example, if the target has an Attack Down debuff, Larimar imposes her own -15% Attack Down debuff on the entire enemy team for 12 seconds. This has great synergy with characters that have debuff-heavy compositions.
Passive - Guardian of Balance: This passive skill adjusts its effect based on enemy count, be it 15% Attack and Speed bonus for your team or a 15% Attack and Speed decrease for enemies, or self-mana recovery combined with a 15% Damage increase.
Larimar’s Artifact - Osiris's Staff, "Foretold End", further increases Larimar's damage potential by enhancing the effect of "Sentence of the End". As if it wasn't powerful enough, this adds additional damage, decreases the target's Mana and recovers her own when the skill's effect triggers.
While Larimar's personal damage numbers seem high, her role is actually that of a debuffer. In reality, she relies heavily on your DPS units to provide as much damage as possible during the 10 second windows of "Sentence of the End", which ends up inflating her DPS numbers to extremes. Her key skills, "Sentence" and "Watchful Eyes" work together to bolster your team's effectiveness while weakening the enemy.
Investment wise, due to her primary role as support and her DPS being tied to carry/team’s overall DPS itself, Larimar can function very well at lower ascension compared to some other characters and minimal artifact investment as long as you can keep her alive.
New Players: Get a copy or two for collection and revisit her once you have a proper Hyper-Carry built.
F2P/Casual Players: Leg+/Eternal ascension and a L+ artifact are good points for future viability.
Dolphins/Competitive Raid Players: Ideally, aim for Origin ascension due to her squishy stats, though she will work decently even at Eternal+. For her Artifact, Legendary+ is fine.
Whales/Rankers: Do your usual thing, she's well worth investing in for the stats. Origin+ Ascension and Origin Artifact are great boosts for her survival and overall DPS.
Since Larimar's potential is directly correlated with her teammate's damage output, it is obvious that pairing her with highly invested carries is the key to success. Unsurprisingly, the usual culprits such as Lizelotte, Naomi or Violette are great teammates for her. She works best with DPS characters who have high burst damage windows to synchronize with her Sub 1 skill. Additionally, she benefits from having Debuffers on the team, since her S2 will stack another set of debuffs on top of the ones already applied by your team, further amplifying your damage. Ayame, who shares four debuffs with Larimar, is particularly synergistic. Other beneficial debuffers include Honglan, Garnet, Radiance Catherine, Mephistopheles and Miriam.
Larimar is a solid support character with a comfortable spot in all raids and ESS content for the forseeable future. Thanks to her personal investment requirements being on the low end, she can be slotted in even if not fully invested, assuming you can keep her alive. She is heavily reliant on the DPS of her teammates making Hyper Carries a necessity on any team you'd want to slot her in, as without them providing the damage for her Subskill to replicate, she will have a rather mediocre performance. With Chaos Linzy and a possible Date a Live collab on the horizon, players may opt to only pull enough copies to give her some much-needed beefiness rather than going all-in.
Low Investment for High returns.
Passively increases damage to new heights in Raids and ESS content.
DPS performance reliant on Hyper Carry.
Lackluster Ultimate and Main skill.
