We have reworked our tier list owing to multiple meta shifts and how we rate characters. As such some of the reviews (especially of older characters) might not match the tier list ratings. Please prioritize the ratings given over provided Review. We will be working on updating all reviews, but it is a time-consuming endeavor.
After experiencing a makeover from her initial look, Kanna joins Eversoul as the newest fairy ranger soul - she can be your angel, she can be your devil but is she worth your gems and tickets?
Her main skill, Bullet Barrage, will target an enemy and then hit all the targets close to them, inflicting 2 stacks of 'Angel Shot' and 'Devil Shot'. More to this later - when maxed, Kanna will always apply the effects of 'Angel' and 'Devil Shot' regardless of the number of stacks.
Her two sub skills work in tandem as they are based on the different kind of shots: her sub skill 1, Angelic Pierce, inflict 2 stacks of 'Angel shot' on the target and if these stacks activate Angelic Shot, she will follow up with Devilish Scatter right away with no delay. If Devilish scatter is casted this way, she will also inflict 3 stacks of Devil Shot on the enemy.
Devilish Scatter is her second subskill, doing the exact opposite: it will inflict 2 stacks of 'Devil Shot' and if it triggers 'Devil Shot' it will follow up with 'Angelic Pierce', inflicting 3 stacks. These stacks are tied to Kanna's passive, Angel & Devil. When she uses her normal attack, she inflicts the target with 1 stack of 'Angel Shot' and 'Devil shot' and at 6 stacks Kanna will apply a special effect before consuming the stack:
If the target reaches 6 stacks of Angel Shot, she will charm the target for 5 seconds and if the target cannot be charmed, it will deal damage instead.
If the target reaches 6 stacks of Devil shot, she will inflict the target with the 'Devil touch' debuff for 12 seconds, increasing their total damage received by 15% and giving Kanna a 40% additional damage against the target. The damage from Angel Shot when hitting a charm immune target is also influenced by this extra damage.
Her passive also grants Kanna 500 mana when using her normal, while also granting Kanna 750 Mana when using Angelic Pierce or Devilish Scatter.
Her Ultimate is similar to her Main skill, dealing damage to a target (the enemy with the lowest HP) and all the enemies within a 3m radius from them, inflicting 3 stacks of Angel and Devil shot. It will also trigger the effects of the debuffs regardless of the number of stacks if the main target is hit with the attack.
Finally, her artifact adds 20% power and duration to the effects of Kanna's skills when both Angel and Devil shot debuffs are at 6 stacks, granting Kanna an Atk % buff when starting the stage. Every artifact ascension adds 5% to this buff, making it a nice improvement to her debuffing and damaging potential.
At the end of the day, Kanna works similar to Miriam, having to play around her bullets and planning when to use her main skill in order to trigger the Angel and Devil shot effects to maximize her damage and inflict the increased damage received debuff on the target.
If you have a high invested Miriam - especially if you pushed her artifact to Origin - she already fills the subdps+debuff role quite well, since she can reduce defense and increase the target's crit damage received by 15/24%. This doesn't make Kanna bad, but she can be seen as a sidegrade as of now, continuing the trend of a lot of recent souls.
Players that are invested in guild raids might appreciate Kanna and what she brings, giving you the potential to run two fairy teams.
Otherwise, considering a new A/D character is probably nearing by and the fact she was released after Beleth, you might want to save your resources for what's to come until we get closer to the end of her banner and make your decision based on her performance.
Good potential as sub dps
Increased damage received debuff is powerful against bosses
Performance differs greatly between auto and manual for timings
Mostly a sidegrade for existing units
