Review

We have reworked our tier list owing to multiple meta shifts and how we rate characters. As such some of the reviews (especially of older characters) might not match the tier list ratings. Please prioritize the ratings given over provided Review. We will be working on updating all reviews, but it is a time-consuming endeavor.

The SSR that people thought to reroll for due to a misunderstanding of her kit, Jade’s popularity significantly fell when people realized she doesn't cause your team to proc more subs with her S3, but simply raises the chances of secondary effects (such as Naiah sleep).

That said, she still functions really well as an early-game backline, having one of the only ults that can target all enemies regardless of location.  A hyper-invested early game Jade can easily carry the entire team with her ult alone. Her M1, ult, and S2 all rely on RNG that deals more damage to the target, as well as being a debuff, making her an excellent choice to reset story chapters for the perfect RNG run.

Her S1 is also an unavoidable charm on the highest ATK enemy, alleviating the pressure off from your frontline for 6 seconds. Her artifact is a very simple teamwide ATK buff.

Towards the later stages, she unfortunately falls off compared to other backlines like Mephi or Vivi, especially since her kit just doesn't offer that much other than damage. Even Talia’s ult could do the same as Jade, except it also provides heal and mana regeneration.

There is also a lack of units currently that can utilize her S3 which increases the activation of additional effects, further limiting her use in most team comps.

Single Bosses

We have yet to see Jade shine since no strong DPS units rely on her additional chance passive, though this could change in the future with the introduction of more units with similar mechanics, especially since her artifact already gives a permanent ATK buff.

PVP It is also rare to find Jade when other backlines like Vivi, Naiah, and Mephi exist. Her charm could see some niche usage against a hyper-carry backline, but since charm can be cleansed it unfortunately doesn't improve her standing.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Good AoE damage on Ult.

  • Has Charm.

  • Attack Buff.

Cons

  • Kit has fair bit of RNG

  • Lack of units that benefit from her S3
