Hanul is a DEX Angel Assassin Soul (released 27 March 2025) that constantly aims for dangerous targets on the battlefield while utilizing and restoring her one-time use buffs. Hanul brings much utility, her kit packing a Resist Death/ Invincibility buff, Evasion, and Taunt along with a powerful Attack/ Critical Rate party buff. She is no slouch in the damage department either, as her kit allows her to reset and loop her S1 and Mains to quickly dispatch enemies on the field if she can chain multiple kills together. Her kit leans towards clearing 5v5 combat as efficiently as possible, and she can fit into many team comps.
Skill Rotation: S1 > NA > S2 > NA > NA > S2 > NA > repeat
Passive: Mind Renewal – Hanul starts the fight with the “Mind Renewal” buff active. Upon being defeated, she can consume the buff to prevent her death and go into a temporary invincible state while restoring Mana and HP. On top of that, she deals 50% bonus damage to enemies below 30% HP, ignoring that HP threshold if she is attacking any Demon, Chaotic, Ringleader, Evil Soul, or Minion type enemies.
Main: Twilight Cleave – Hanul fires a shockwave at the enemy with the highest attack, dealing damage to that enemy and others within a 3m radius, stunning them and reducing their HP recovery. She also starts the fight with the “Twilight” buff active, and she may consume the buff to restore 5000 mana. Defeating an enemy with Twilight Cleave will also restore the “Twilight” buff.
Ultimate: Gaon’s Wings – Hanul teleports behind and attacks the enemy with the highest attack, restoring both the “Twilight” and the “Mind Renewal” buff if either are not active. If the “Mind Renewal” buff is active, she restores 50% HP and Mana instead. This skill allows Hanul to either keep using her powerful buffs or set up a powerful reset combo with her Main skill.
S1: Raging Waves – Hanul teleports behind and attacks the enemy with the highest attack, permanently increasing her Speed and applying the “Shenanigans” debuff that taunts the enemy and makes all their attacks miss for 6 seconds (excluding guaranteed hits). Should any enemies be defeated within 3.5m of her, her next action is reset to Raging Waves which will deal additional damage. Launched as a 1st action, this skill is both powerful for occupying the highest threat enemy or snowballing hard with multiple S1 resets.
S2: Double River – Hanul launches a ranged attack at the nearest enemy, temporarily increasing her Evasion if there are 3 or more enemies within 3.5m of her.
Artifact: Divine Sword of the Three Heavenly Seals - At the start of combat, the party receives bonus 2.5 - 10% Attack and Critical Rate for each different soul faction type in the party. This translates to a whopping 50% teamwide Attack and Critical Rate buff for 5 different factions at Origin. Furthermore, when using at least 4 different soul types (3 at Origin), she provides the team with a 15%-20% damage reduction buff.
Hanul has terrifying snowball potential thanks to her multiple skill resets and highest attack targeting skills. As long as any unit dies within 3.5m of her (she herself doesn’t need to score the kill), she will follow up with a boosted S1 - Raging Waves, which might lead into another kill (which will trigger her S1 again). The instant mana recovery on her main and ultimate also provides Hanul with a lot of burst potential. However, with her low % multipliers, she needs either strong investment in her stats or strong buffs/ support from allies to live up to that potential.
That is not to say she is completely useless without those; her kit allows her to occupy and duel the highest attack threat while her allies clean up everyone else. Her evasion will give her sufficient longevity to accomplish that task if you give her backup. Hanul’s passive also gives her considerable room to breathe where most other DPS souls might struggle, giving her essentially a 2nd life. She does, however, lack CC Immunity, so a fast source of cleanse or CC Immunity is essential.
Hanul’s powerful artifact buff alone proves to be a considerable performer for Raid content. It provides a permanent boost to any party that can slot her in, which isn’t hard to do as most teams use at least 3 faction types.
She matches up mechanically well in the Dark Knight and Pluto raids - her taunt and AOE main skill proves advantageous against the Dark Knight while her decent hit counts and angel typing keep her in good stead against Pluto. In Rudra, she has potential to be used thanks to her on Stun on Demand and generally tanky kit, although the Critical Rate buff loses its utility there.
However, her lacking damage multipliers do leave her permanently stuck to a buffer role despite the damage increase from her passive. With lack of any other raid oriented utilities in the kit, it might leave her benched in favor of other supports in the future or as meta shifts to single faction teams.
Hanul’s biggest weakness would be her general barrier to entry, as Angel Souls are not only expensive to ascend, but her artifact also requires some level of investment for her buff. With her low damage multipliers, Hanul wants solid investment into her stats before she makes a noticeable impact on the battlefront.
As a DPS, the baseline will always be around Origin ascension, with her artifact at least Legendary+. Eternal+ Ascension is an acceptable compromise with somewhat lower stats than Origin for 4 less dupes if you have already gone past level 201 Level Sync.
If you just plan to use Hanul as a support for Raids, you could get by with lower ascension if her Artifact is sufficiently invested, at the cost of personal damage.
Further investments on either will improve her killing potential on Battlefront/ Depths and buffing capabilities on Raid.
Battlefront/ Depths: As mentioned above, Hanul appreciates being given room to kill or occupy a high attack target without retaliation. Tanks like Claire and Honglan (Peerless) draw enough aggro for Hanul to breathe, and solid defensive supports like Wheri can also provide her with additional bulk. Strong offensive supporters like Yuria and Eve will give her killing potential to snowball.
If Hanul's artifact is sufficiently invested, she can also enable some niche teams due to her team-wide buff pushing characters’ performance past their usual limits, freeing up meta units such as Yuria, Eve and Daphne for other teams.
In Raids, Hanul will slot in decently well with any teams that typically field 3 or more Soul factions to maximise her party buff.
The first Angel Soul released since Yuria in October 2023, Hanul had a lot of expectations from her release, and she is more than capable of living up to it if given enough investment to shine. She makes an excellent expansion to any new or veteran player’s roster alike.
Newer players who are just joining the game can consider rerolling for her dupes as an option for a starting carry; she is very sufficient for that purpose, and she should see use in Raids with her powerful artifact party buff, also a boon for veteran players.
However, with her high investment requirements and a packed banner schedule in Q2 2025 (Yuria and Linzy (Thanatos) both rerunning in May, and Eve in June), players with insufficient funds could possibly consider skipping her banner or doing just 300 pulls and waiting for a potential rerun in Q4 2025.
Massive Snowball potential in 5v5.
Unique survivability tools – Resist Death mechanic and Evasion.
A lot of “Highest Attack” targeting in her kit.
Very powerful party buff.
Very tricky and varied kit that will let her fit into a lot of teams.
Very expensive to build.
Multipliers are mid by modern DPS standards.
Most of her utility is tied to 5v5 situations.
Vulnerable to crowd-control.

Angel Soul - will need 14 dupes to hit Origin. Prioritise HP/ Resistances/ Tanky Keepsakes if dying at Min Rec.
Comments:
Upgrading Artifact is highly suggested for proper Raid use as Hanul's Teamwide buffs get stronger with Artifact ascension.
