Introduction

Hassel is a 6 rarity Echomancer of the
Skirmisher
Skirmisher class who wields the
Lightning
Lightning Element. The character was originally released on January 12th, 2024 in China and they will release on November 13th, 2024 in Global.

Originally from Blackout, arrived in Senlo in November 1119. Formerly part of Hailin Public Security Bureau's Raptor Elite Detachment, or R.E.D., he was suspended with pay after two months on the job. Following a cooperation agreement between S.E.E.D. and the R.E.D., he was recalled by the R.E.D. and dispatched to S.E.E.D. He is currently serving on the Tact Team of S.E.E.D.'s Field Ops Department. Hassel is famous for his remarkable shooting skills, making him more than qualified for the Tact Team at S.E.E.D. This Skill may only be used when Ghosthand is present. Fires a huge Energy Shot at the target area, dealing Lightning DMG equal to {0} Final ATK to enemy units along the path, intercepting Projectiles. After the Energy Shot reaches the destination, it deals Lightning DMG equal to {1} MST to all targets within a 400-unit radius. The target at the center takes additional Physical DMG equal to {2} Final ATK.

Base Effect:

When Ghosthand appears, Hassel hands Ghosthand a firearm, commanding the latter to assist in combat. Ghosthand deals AoE DMG.
Hassel's DMG dealt benefits from ATK bonuses, and Ghosthand's DMG dealt benefits from MST bonuses.
ATKs ignore 5% of the target's Basic DR. When Ghosthand is present, the effect is multiplied by 3.

Unlocks at Seed Lv. I:

After entering combat, gains 30 extra [Malevolence].
Activating Ghosthand increases Max [Malevolence] by 20%.

Lv. 1: When set as Leader, teammates gain an Engraving Stat bonus of 20% (including VIT, ATK, and MST).

Lv. 2: When set as Leader and on the field: Increases the VIT of Echomancers on the field by 20%.

Lv. 3: When set as Leader, this Echomancer’s MST to DMG Rate is increased to 110%.

Lv. 4: When set as Leader, after this Echomancer performs a combo, the Extra DMG of the Echomancers on the field is increased by 60%.

Lv. 5: ATK SPD +5%.

Review

Intro

Hassel is a 6✦ Echomancer of the Skirmisher Class, with the Lightning Element. He uses his Ghosthand to wield one of his guns in combat, while shooting with his right-hand weapon himself. Despite the apparent complexity, his kit is quite simple; all his attacks deal a mix of Lightning and Physical damage, with his basic attacks having some Damage Resistance Penetration which increases when he summons his Ghosthand. Hassel passively gains [Malevolence], which is required to summon his Ghosthand and to use his ultimate. He has powerful single target attacks and is generally good against bosses, but not necessarily the best option for lightning teams in particular due to his hybrid kit requiring special team building.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • High single target DPS, Great against bosses;

  • Can double-dip on both physical and lightning buffs, as well as hybrid-specific buffs;

  • Ultimate can intercept projectiles and penetrate barriers;

  • Third dupe gives him greatly increased Malevolence generation to offset downsides

Cons

  • Single target attacks make him bad against swarms when he doesn’t have Ghosthand up to grant him AoE attacks;

  • Ultimate is highly skewed towards physical damage, unable to take full advantage of elemental reactions;

  • Depends on Malevolence stacks to use his Ultimate;

  • Low Active Skill use count.

Tier list comment

After triggering a combo, Hassel can then continue through his Active Skill, “Reloading Ghostgun” to deal a huge amount of damage in a short period of time. His damage is split between Physical and Lightning, allowing him to take on Bosses with different resistances. Later on in the CN version, he falls to B due to a lack of additional supporting mechanics.
